Dog Training Methodology
The Spartanburg Kennel Club offers various activities and competitions for dogs and their handlers. These include Conformation shows, which evaluate dogs against breed standards; Obedience trials, demonstrating a dog’s discipline and ability to follow commands; Rally, a combination of obedience and speed with handlers navigating a course; and Fast CAT (Coursing Ability Tests), which showcases a dog’s natural speed and hunting abilities on a straight track.
About the Trainer
Spartanburg Kennel Club, established in 1952, is a non-profit agency dedicated to fostering interests and knowledge surrounding canine companions. They aim to celebrate purebred dogs and educate the public about responsible dog ownership, health, and responsible breeding practices.
They offer a variety of exciting activities for all breeds, including competition events like conformation, obedience, and rally. They also host Fast CAT (Coursing Ability Tests) which showcases dogs’ speed and hunting abilities.
The club provides a platform for dogs to shine, celebrating the unique talents and abilities that make each breed special. They also engage in educational events and seminars to spread awareness about responsible dog ownership, encouraging adoption and foster programs.
