Squared Away Dog Training

Squared Away Dog Training offers several programs tailored to different needs. Private Lessons are 1-on-1 sessions focusing on basic obedience, leash manners, house manners, and minor behavior problems, also preparing dogs for CGC or Trick Dog Titles. These require daily owner commitment to homework.

Board & Train programs involve the dog living with a trainer 24/7, following a structured routine including feeding, obedience, house manners, crate training, and daily outings. This program is ideal for off-leash training, dogs with handling challenges, or owners with limited time for intensive groundwork.

Schutzhund (IGP) training is offered through Private Lessons, covering concepts, theory, and applied methods, and also via Board & Train for any length of time to meet specific Schutzhund goals. They can also handle dogs in trials.

Structured Exercise/Walking provides 30-minute walks in the Upper Cape area to maintain training and proper behavior, including doorway manners, no pulling, and automatic sits. Eligibility is determined by Stetson, and dogs with moderate to severe issues may need prior private lessons. Behavior Modification Board & Train is specifically designed for dogs with severe aggression or separation anxiety, with a minimum 1-month stay.

Pricing Summary

Evaluations cost $75 for “Come To Us” and $125 for “In Your Home,” with the fee waived if a training package is purchased on the same day.

Private Lessons at their training field are $175 for 1 lesson, $600 for 4 lessons, $800 for 6 lessons, and $1,000 for 8 lessons. In-Home Lessons are $250 for 1 lesson, $900 for 4 lessons, $1,350 for 6 lessons, and $1,800 for 8 lessons. These are not for dogs with severe behavioral issues.

Board & Train programs require a 20% non-refundable deposit. A 3-week program is $3,100, a 4-week program is $3,800, and a 6-week program is $5,700. Behavior Modification Board & Train, designed for severe issues, has a 1-month minimum at $4,800/month, with duration decided case-by-case.

Structured Walks are $60 for a 30-minute session. AKC CGC and Trick Dog Title evaluations are $25 each, with additional AKC fees required upon submitting completed forms.

Policies

Squared Away Dog Training has a cancellation policy for lessons. Reschedules due to inclement weather are determined by the business and do not count towards allotted reschedules.

For 4-Lesson and 6-Lesson packages, one cancellation or reschedule is permitted. For 8-Lesson packages, two cancellations or reschedules are permitted. Any further cancellations will be counted as a completed lesson. Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the scheduled lesson time; lessons canceled less than 12 hours in advance will be counted as completed.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a Board & Train program.

Accomplishments

Stetson Scribner, the Owner/Head Trainer, began his dog training career in San Diego in 2015. He studied under multiple veteran trainers, gaining extensive knowledge in training methods and dog behavior. He has trained hundreds of dogs of all breeds and ages, addressing behaviors from basic obedience to severe aggression.

Stetson is heavily involved in the sport of Schutzhund/IGP, having trained, competed with, and titled multiple dogs in IGP. He is also a Certified Helper for regional level trials and actively trains and competes with his own dogs. Squared Away Dog Training is a Certified Evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test and Trick Dog Titles.

How to Get Started!

To begin, clients can fill out a contact form providing their name, email, phone number, desired training services (Private Lessons or Board & Train), dog’s name, breed/age/sex, available days of the week, and how they heard about the business.

The first step in the training process is an evaluation to determine training goals and the best approach to achieve them. The cost of this evaluation is waived if a training package is purchased on the same day. Clients should allow up to 48 business hours for a response after submitting their inquiry.
