Stand Proud Dog Training requires a recent fecal test for all dogs staying with them, which is valid for one year for existing clients. For private lessons, clients who are more than 10 minutes late will have their lesson rescheduled and it will count as a completed session. For go-home lessons, a late fee may be charged, and rescheduling might be necessary if a client is more than 10 minutes late.
Payments made with debit/credit cards incur a processing fee; clients can pay with Zelle, cash, or check to avoid this. For boarding stays, a 50% deposit is required at booking to secure a spot, which is only refundable as a credit regardless of cancellation time. The remaining balance is due at drop-off, and late fees will apply if not paid by pickup. Day care invoices are due at booking and are refundable by credit only.
Clients must bring all dog food in a closeable container. Follow-up lessons expire, and if not booked within a reasonable timeframe, a new consultation on their property will be required. Access to Pack Walks and boarding services is contingent on maintaining the dog’s training. Dogs not crate and potty trained will require a minimum 4-week stay in the Minor Behavior Modification program. For the safety of staff, any dog with extensive human bite history must be fully muzzle conditioned before joining the board-and-train program.
Testimonials
“What an incredible establishment and group of trainers. As an anxious mom of a 1 year old, I didn’t want a puppy, but desperately wanted a dog. Danielle got back to me within 24 hours of my application. She had never met me, but she had Ian meet us in Carson to introduce Carl (a rescue) to my son to see if it was a good fit. It was!Carl went through the board and train quickly after we got him as he had no formal training prior and we needed tools for him and my son to coexist with confidence.Carl came home with a good base of knowledge, but the next few weeks of personal and group lessons he truly became the dog that we thought he could be.I am convinced if every business had a Danielle running it, it would be successful as she is painfully organized and prompt with responses. We have worked with Ian, Abby, Austin, and Brandon and they have all helped us with Carl in their own way.Thank you SO much Stand Proud! Bringing Carl into the family made us whole, but we could not have done it without you guys.”

“Wow – I am SO HAPPY that I found Stand Proud! I would give them 10 stars if I could! I live in SLT and tried to find a good trainer. I was not sold on any of the trainers in SLT so I expanded our search to Reno! Less than 1 day after submitting an inquiry form, I received a call from Danielle. During the call, we chatted about my dog, Boomer, and the areas where he needed some work :)Danielle was amazing from the start – she is incredibly kind and has wonderful communication skills. We booked an intake session to visit the facility to meet Brandon – he and Danielle own Stand Proud together. When we met Brandon, it was a great session. You can absolutely tell that they love training dogs and this is their passion. The facility was incredibly clean and easy to find. There were also tons of photos of dogs on the wall which was super cute. During our session, Brandon was sure to understand why we were interested in Stand Proud and how his training could help Boomer. He clearly explain their training methods and what we could expect during the board and train. We explained that Boomer was a bit timid and unsure of new people, needed extra help with his commands, and needed some work on his confidence. Brandon assured us that these issues could be addressed and we would have a new, happier Boomer after training. After the intake session, it was very easy to schedule the days that Boomer would actually be in boarding/training. Danielle, once again, was amazing. I had many questions and she answered all of them immediately. Boomer’s drop off was very easy also. We brought his food, leash, and a kennel attendant helped with his arrival.During his training we received multiple updates – videos, photos, texts, of his progress and overall updates on how he was doing. Seeing the photos made us so happy – he made a few friends and loved his time there. Danielle was always very quick to respond and I received wonderful updates on his training progress.Since Boomer can be a little stubborn, he was at training for three weeks instead of two! lol. I’m so glad he got the extra week of training though. He has some funny personality quirks and the extra week made a world of a difference. When my boyfriend and I picked Boomer up – we were so excited! Once again, communication with Danielle was great. We locked in a time to pick him up and it was very easy.Boomer’s main trainer was Austin and we got the chance to meet him during the training session for us and Boomer when we picked him up. Upon seeing Boomer for just 1 minute, we could see major improvements!! During our training session, we were so impressed with his progress. He was excellent on leash, listening to commands, he was much more calm, and his demeanor was so much more confident! Prior to dropping him off at training, he was always scared of people. He absolutely loved Austin, Abby, and another woman who was working at the facility. It was so special to see him happy and confident around people! We’ve had Boomer at home for almost one week and we’ve talked about how happy we are that he went to Stand Proud every single day that he’s been home. Walks are so much more enjoyable – he’s not pulling us down the street and he’s very attentive. His house manners and amazing and he is now comfortable meeting new people. He still gets a little excited here and there but with the new tools that we have and training he has received, we have such an amazing new bond with him. We can also tell that Boomer is incredibly proud of himself once he follows commands. We have a packet of Boomer’s homework, received some fun Stand Proud goodies, and brought home a happier and more confident version of Boomer. Every step of training from the initial phone call to picking him up was a great experience.Another extra perk of their board and train program is that Boomer can board at their facility now. We don’t travel without Boomer too often but we are so happy to know that if we need to travel without him, he will be in good hands at Stand Proud.”

“I need to start this review by saying, without exaggeration, that Brandon saved my dog Jake’s life. I was at the end of my rope & in a fit of anxiety & fear my boy did the unthinkable & bit me. Jake had been through so much & so many owners over the years that I knew getting rid of him would no doubt end his life. Who else would take him after this?! Plus, he’s my dog! I love him so much & was completely heartbroken. I emailed Stand Proud the night of the incident, thinking I’d hear back in the morning & instead ended up emailing with Danielle until 11pm. These ppl truly care about you & your dog. They are extremely up front & honest about the issues they see & how they think they can help. But they will help you! Every single step of the way they are there. Jake did 6wks of B&T with them & now we are in the follow up phase. We still have work to do but I’ve seen an amazing change in this dog. Beyond just singing their praises, I decided to write this review to let folks know that even in the toughest of circumstances, there is hope for you & your beloved pet. Brandon, Danielle & Austin will love your dog like their own & treat you like family. I truly believe they have been Jake’s guardian angels.”

About the Trainer
Stand Proud Dog Training is a family-run business based in Northern Nevada that serves dog owners across the West Coast. They pride themselves on their flexibility and adaptability, using a wide array of techniques to train all types of dogs, from puppies needing foundational skills to nervous shelter dogs and those with extreme behavioral issues like aggression.
Their training philosophy emphasizes a balanced approach, combining positive reinforcement, marker training, slip leads, prong collars, and e-collars. They believe in humane methods and tailor their approach to each unique dog, recognizing that only 25% of their work is dog training, with the remaining 75% focused on human training.
All programs are designed to teach both the dog and the owner, laying a solid foundation, breaking bad habits, and teaching new skills, then showing owners how to maintain and enforce these skills at home. The success of their programs relies heavily on the owner’s commitment, consistency, and follow-through.
Their core philosophy involves using structure, consistency, motivation, and clear leadership to help dogs live happier and healthier lives, fostering clear communication and dependable behavior between dogs and their owners. In addition to training, Stand Proud Dog Training offers dog daycare, overnight boarding, and nail trimming services for existing clients.
