Board-and-train dogs stay at the trainer’s home with 24/7 training, real-world exposure, and structured routines. Upon return, owners receive detailed take-home lessons, video resources, and ongoing support to maintain progress. Programs are tailored to each dog’s behavior, breed, and owner’s goals, with adjustments made based on progress and environmental challenges.

Pricing Summary

Pricing is customized based on program type and individual needs. Board and train programs range from 3 to 8 weeks with no early release or discounts for added time. Private lessons are held twice weekly for one hour each. No public pricing is listed; interested clients must contact for a personalized quote.

Board and train programs do not allow early release, even if the dog progresses quickly. Additional time cannot be added mid-program without losing program integrity and without full pricing. Clients are encouraged to decide on program length before enrollment. Ongoing support is provided after graduation, and clients are advised to maintain consistency at home to prevent regression. No cancellation or rescheduling policies are explicitly stated for private or group lessons.

Testimonials

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with George several years ago when first training our dog. To this day, I still reference George for any sort of questions regarding training. Being able to take classes with him has enabled our dog to learn and grow in a positive environment, as well as us growing and learning as pet parents. He didn’t just tell us how to train our dog, but showed us and gave us tools we still utilize years later. George is very knowledgeable and wise beyond his years when it comes to working with animals. I can honestly say we have always enjoyed our classes with him as he is energetic, fun, and extremely passionate about his work. He is invested in working with animals (and their humans!) and has always gone the extra mile to make certain that our animals receive quality training in his care as well as in the home. I would highly recommend George to any pet owner looking for training, as I can personally say, he is one of the best!”

“We’re so glad we found George! We’re first time dog owners with two boys and that two of a large breed dog. We had some biting issues that George gave us really easy solutions to and now we’re doing leash training with him and making great progress. His technique is very easy to apply and understand and he caters lessons according to your needs which is much better than standard lesson plans offered by others that may or may not work for your dog. We have a much more well behaved puppy thanks to him and hoping to have a very well trained adult dog.”
– Masooma Hassan

“We recently rescued our dog, Mogul, our family’s first pet. She’s about 12 months old, a high-energy mixed breed (we think Australian Cattle/Collie/Husky), and likely didn’t get to fully enjoy her puppyhood. She was nipping and herding our young boys, which made them uncomfortable, and it was clear she needed structure and a strong training foundation.

We spoke with several trainers, but none truly understood our needs or Mogul’s personality until we met Jorge. He genuinely listened, took the time to understand our goals, and walked us through his individualized approach. He was patient, answered our many questions over multiple calls, and explained how his Board and Train program is customized for each dog, with only a couple of dogs at a time so he can give them his full attention.

While Mogul was with him, Jorge even fell ill, but he still offered to keep her longer to ensure she completed her training and was truly ready to come home.

Today, Mogul has an incredible foundation and the structure she needed to thrive. Our boys cuddle with her daily, she no longer nips, she walks calmly with the whole family, and she responds to so many commands. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Jorge and couldn’t recommend him more highly!”

About the Trainer

Stanfur’d k9 is a professional dog training business led by George M., a trainer with over 25 years of experience specializing in building strong communication between dogs and their owners. They offer personalized training programs including private in-home lessons, group classes, virtual lessons, and intensive board-and-train programs lasting 3 to 8 weeks. Their training philosophy emphasizes reading canine body language, customizing methods to the owner’s beliefs, and using a balanced approach that incorporates all four quadrants of training while prioritizing the human-dog relationship. They focus on behavior modification for issues like reactivity, separation anxiety, leash pulling, jumping, biting, and fearfulness, and also provide specialized service dog training. Dogs in board-and-train programs stay at the trainer’s home for round-the-clock care and real-world exposure, including field trips to stores and parks. Post-program, owners receive follow-up support, take-home lessons, and ongoing counseling to ensure lasting results.

They also offer continued education after graduation and emphasize consistency, structure, and environmental management as key to success. George’s background includes veterinary experience, high-level competition in AKC obedience, herding, agility, and tricks, which informs his holistic, relationship-based training style. While they do not offer grooming, they partner with The Doodle for that service.
