Puppy School is a group setting for puppies 10 to 16 weeks old, focusing on basic foundation and obedience, including learning “No,” crate training, potty training, and “Sit.”

Basic Obedience includes 5 one-hour private sessions, focusing on building a solid foundation and overcoming behavioral issues. Dogs will master basic commands such as Sit, Down, Heel, and Place (Stay).

Advanced Obedience also includes 5 one-hour private sessions, for dogs that have mastered basic commands. This program teaches advanced behaviors like Walking Control, Control From A Distance, and Off-Leash Control.

Board & Train allows dogs to stay with the trainer by the week or be dropped off daily. The program focuses on basic obedience commands and addressing any behavioral issues. Owners are required to set aside time to work with the trainer and their dog upon return to understand what was accomplished.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

Puppy School is $20.00 per lesson. Basic Obedience is $30.00 per lesson. Advanced Obedience is $35.00 per lesson. Board & Train is $250.00 per week. Currently, they accept cash and checks only.

Policies

To cancel a lesson, clients should call 207-593-6579 and try to provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Private lessons can be rescheduled. Puppy School, being a group setting, cannot be rescheduled, but missed material can be revisited in a private lesson for an additional fee.

About the Trainer

Stone Coast Dog Training, owned and operated by Christine Kelliher, offers “wicked good dog training” focusing on building a solid foundation for dogs and addressing behavioral issues. Christine, a former Police K9 Officer and K9 Detector Dog Trainer for 24 years, brings extensive experience to her customized approach.

They provide private lessons for Basic and Advanced Obedience, and Board & Train, ensuring one-on-one attention. Puppy School is offered in small group settings. The training aims to develop trustworthy, reliable, and happy dogs, helping owners understand the relationship with their pets.

Christine is described as a friendly instructor who provides expert, respectful, and kind instruction, remaining patient and calm. Stone Coast Dog Training is a proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Accomplishments

Christine Kelliher has a 24-year career as a Police K9 Officer and K9 Detector Dog Trainer in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, PA. She is a certified Detector Dog Trainer and has trained dozens of Police K9 teams to a national certifying standard.

Christine and her past K9 partner, Kirby, were the recipients of the 2012 American Kennel Club Award for Canine Excellence. Her five detector dogs combined were responsible for the seizure of over $300 million in illegal drugs and drug-tainted currency. Christine retired from law enforcement in December 2019 and moved to South Thomaston, Maine in January 2020. During the pandemic, she researched and studied dog behavior and met with industry trainers to sharpen her skills in diagnosing and solving behavioral problems.
