StormRyder Kennels

StormRyder Kennels offers three main training programs:
nnObedience Training: This program typically lasts six to eight weeks and focuses on commands such as Here, Heel, Sit, Down, Place, and Kennel. Dogs learn to walk on and off-lead with ease and are socialized and exercised daily. Owners are encouraged to train with their dogs to become familiar with the learned commands.
nnGun Dog Training: This program takes approximately six months and prepares dogs to be hunting partners. It includes marking simple retrieves on land and water, being steady to voice and shot, retrieving and delivering to hand, exposure to birds, blind skills, and kennel travel. Dogs without prior obedience training must complete StormRyder Kennels’ obedience program first.
nnAdvanced Hunt Test Training: This advanced program typically requires four more months of training, depending on the desired level. It aims to develop a finished-level dog capable of working at the Master Hunter or HRCH/GRHRCH level. Training includes multiple marks on land and water, blind work, hand and whistle casting, and honoring another dog while it works. The trainers can also help owners prepare to handle their dogs in competition or handle the dogs for them for an additional fee.

Pricing Summary

Dog training costs $900 per month for all programs. Puppy prices vary depending on the litter, with a deposit required to reserve a spot on the reservation list. An additional fee applies if StormRyder Kennels handles the dog in Hunt Tests.

StormRyder Kennels is owned and operated by Harry and Beverly Pradon in Cartersville, Georgia. They have been training dogs since 1981 and participate in the same events and areas for which they train dogs.

They offer various training programs including general Obedience training, Gun Dog Training, Hunt Test training, and Advanced Hunt Test training. Their kennels are located on a family farm on the outskirts of Cartersville, providing hundreds of acres for safe training, exercise, and socialization.

A new kennel facility was built in 2021, designed for the best care, cleanliness, and safety of their clients’ dogs. StormRyder Kennels also breeds and sells Labrador Retriever puppies from health-tested, titled females, occasionally offering trained gun dogs for sale.

Harry and Beverly Pradon have been training dogs since 1981. Their female Labrador Retrievers have achieved significant titles and honors.
nnGRHRCHX4 HOF UHCH Stormryder’s She Ain’t Easy MH MNR (Call Name: Easy) is an Honorable 1,000 Points Club 2024 Retriever Hall Of Fame inductee. She is noted as the youngest Chocolate Labrador Retriever in history to achieve the Hall Of Fame title and was the youngest Chocolate Lab to pass her first International Grand Hunt Test that year, making her the third youngest female Chocolate and fifth youngest Chocolate of either sex to pass any International Grand in history. Easy has earned almost all her titles at a record young age and is a natural at retriever work, excelling as a hunting companion and in Hunt Tests.
nnHRCH Stormryder’s Louisiana Cajun Wind (Call Name: Breeze) is described as an ultimate companion, capable of running Hunt Tests/Trials and hunting various game birds. She is known for her focus, quiet demeanor, and excellent marking ability.
nnHRCH Stormryder’s Coast Is Clear (Call Name: Conley) is a high-drive, fast-working dog with great accuracy in marking birds and running blinds. She is a littermate sister to the first and only Chocolate Labrador to win the SRS Crown Championship in history.
nnAll of their females are fully Health Tested through Genetic Health Panels and have OFA Certified Hip/Elbow certification, proving their trainability and ability to perform.
