Sunny Lane Canine Academy offers dog-friendly classes using positive reinforcement methods, catering to various ages and skill levels. Programs include the “PRE-SCHOOL Puppy Quick Start” workshop for young puppies, focusing on early development, socialization, potty training, and nipping.
“Puppy Boot Camp and Support Group” teaches social skills, manners, and basic commands to puppies 12 weeks to 8 months, while “Puppy Finishing School” reinforces obedience for puppies up to 18 months, emphasizing walking, heeling, and recall.
For dogs 8 months and older, “Basic Training” covers fundamental skills and addresses common behavioral issues. “Doggie Middle School” is an intermediate course for adolescent and older dogs, reviewing recall and leash walking, and introducing target stick training. “Beyond Basic Training” is an advanced class focusing on off-leash work, distance, duration, distraction, teamwork, agility, and tricks. “Doggie Tune-Up” is a bi-monthly refresher workshop for alumni.
Private lessons and phone consultations are available for troubleshooting specific behaviors like leash reactivity, poor recall, leash pulling, dog aggression, people shyness, or excitability. The academy also hosts “Doggie Social Clubs” for different dog categories and offers other workshops, seminars, and theme parties. The facility grounds can be rented for private play sessions or parties.
