About the Trainer
Take A Lead K9 Training and Transportation consists of experienced pet trainers and transportation specialists. They believe that the most integral part of the training process is the pet owner, and they work with clients to ensure training plans fit their lifestyle and are tailored to their specific needs.
They offer practical, flexible, and personalized training programs, and they collaborate with the veterinary community. In addition to dog training, they also provide dog transportation services.
Their services include basic obedience courses, initial in-home evaluations, reactivity and aggression behavior modification, virtual debrief sessions, one-on-one personal training, doggy field trips, dog rescue training services, and key skills training for sport dogs.
Accomplishments
The trainer began their journey about 8 years ago, motivated by a personal need for a trainer for their resource-guarding female shepherd. This led them into the world of Dog Sports, specifically IPO (now IGP or Schutzhund), where they trained with professional dog trainers and helpers for about 6 years.
Disliking “old school tactics” and seeking clearer communication, the trainer pursued formal education, attending school to learn about dog training and psychology. They also learned online from professional competitors. Later, they discovered and joined a PSA (civilian protection sport) club, finding a sense of camaraderie. After completing college courses, the trainer opened their own facility.
