Testimonials
Taking Gail’s beginner obedience class has made a world of difference in my relationship with my dog! He was really well behaved at home, but couldn’t be trusted to behave while out and about. I followed Gail’s advice, and now I have a whole new dog. I’m so thankful!

My dog has attended the beginner training and each class I leave with a brilliant tip or insight to dog behavior that helps my dog feel more at ease and our family enjoy having him be a part of our lives. My veterinarian has recommended them to me as well. Without a doubt, take your dog here!

About the Trainer
Tall Pines Dog Training is a long-standing dog training business founded in 2002 by Gail Hakli, a retired school music teacher with over 25 years of experience in dog training. The business offers group training classes in obedience, agility, scent work, and a fitness program called Doggiecize, catering to dogs from beginner to competition levels. Classes are held at a dedicated facility in Middlefield, OH, with limited class sizes to ensure individualized attention. Gail is an accomplished competitor in AKC, UKC, C-Wags, and World Cynosport events, and she breeds Rhythm Labradors, many of which have earned national titles. She is also an AKC STAR Puppy and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and her dogs have worked with special needs students. The business emphasizes positive, relationship-based training and offers gift certificates for training classes.
Tall Pines Dog Training provides structured 4-week courses with set schedules on weekdays and evenings, and offers specialized programs for families, therapy dogs, and competitive agility and obedience. The facility includes indoor and outdoor training areas, and Gail’s expertise spans multiple disciplines including rally, nosework, and retriever trials. The business is not a boarding or grooming service, but focuses exclusively on training and education for dog owners.
The training philosophy centers on building a strong bond between dog and owner through clear communication and consistent reinforcement, with an emphasis on fun and success at all skill levels.
