Tall Tails Training begins with an in-home evaluation to determine the best program based on the dog, family goals, and environmental influences. The In-Board Training Program is a 2-week residence program where dogs receive daily professional obedience training at the facility, followed by 5 private lessons and 5 group distraction/socialization classes, or 7 private lessons, over 3 months for the owner and dog.

The Private Lesson/Self Taught Program is for owners who can practice daily, focusing on safe handling, basic commands, and manners in the first half, and distraction and advanced training in the second. It includes 5 private lessons and 5 group classes, or 7 private lessons, teaching commands like Heel, sit, down, stay, come, distance and motion commands, and both verbal and hand signals.

Puppy Counseling offers private sessions for puppies 8-20 weeks old, covering Positive Leadership skills, housebreaking, positive socializing, and fundamental behavior modification, available as a single consultation or a 3-part package. Behavioral Training addresses deeper problems through detailed in-home evaluations, often recommending the Residence Training Program for issues like aggression, providing education to eliminate core problems and prevent future issues.

Pricing Summary

The In-Board Training Program costs $2,275, which includes 2 weeks of boarding, all lessons for 3 months, lesson plans/handouts, and a video of the dog. Pricing for the Private Lesson/Self Taught Program and Puppy Counseling requires a call for details. Daily dog boarding is $55/night, cats are $20/night, and critters vary. PlayCare is $25/day or $100 for a 5-day package. Various ala carte services, boarding packages, and room service amenities are available with specific daily rates.

Policies

For boarding, pets must have current vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella for dogs; Rabies, Feline Distemper, negative FIV/FeLV for cats) with boosters given at least 7 days prior to their stay. Dog owners are required to limit their dog’s exposure to other dogs for two weeks before boarding. Clients should bring their pet’s own food, but not their own bowls, bedding, or toys, as these are provided and sanitized by the facility. Medications and supplements are administered to cooperative pets at no extra charge, though surcharges may apply for insulin-dependent pets or those with multiple medications, or if administration requires taking the dog out of its run. Additional charges may also apply for senior dogs with mobility or incontinence issues requiring frequent care. Boarding is not recommended for dogs with unhealed wounds or those less than 10 days post-surgery.
