About the Trainer
TaylerMade Training and Pet Supplies is a dog training business founded and owned by Tayler Smith, CPDT-KA. The business offers a balanced training style, blending different methods to create obedient dogs through consistency, clarity, and marker words. A fundamental part of their training focuses on corrective behavior, where Tayler observes, classifies, and prevents triggers to address even severe behavioral issues.
In addition to dog training, TaylerMade Training provides other pet services such as a self-serve pet wash, FitDog treadmill services, and operates TaylerMade Rescues, which houses and facilitates the adoption of birds. The business emphasizes building a bond between owner and pet based on trust, love, and understanding, teaching a language both can understand. Tayler also donates time to train long-term shelter dogs at the local humane society and contributes funds and resources to the community monthly. The retail store is currently closed for repairs, but in-home and public training lessons are still available, and their online retail store offers purchases with free delivery within Lompoc.

How to Get Started!
To begin training, a consultation is required. Clients can register for a free phone consultation. If a free phone consultation is not sufficient, a $55 consultation fee is required via Venmo, which will be applied to the total cost if the client hires TaylerMade Training. After the consultation, it is ideal to begin training shortly, with lessons typically meeting once each week. Clients are asked if they are able to start within 1-2 weeks of the consultation. The registration process involves completing an online questionnaire that gathers information about the dog’s name, age, breed, gender, altered status, acquisition, health concerns, vaccine proof, living situation, previous training, exercise habits, and behavioral issues to be discussed.
