Team Spirit Agility

Team Spirit Agility offers group classes at every level from Basic Manners to Masters Level, typically in six-week sessions that are ongoing. They also offer Control Unleashed and Nosework classes.

For new agility students, a prerequisite Pre-Agility/Skills class focusing on positive reinforcement must be completed at Team Spirit Agility. However, enrollment for this class is currently suspended due to high interest. For higher-level classes, evaluations are scheduled for a small fee to determine appropriate placement, but only when class spots are available. Private ring rental is available for current students.

Team Spirit Agility is a positive training facility located in Arvada, Colorado, serving the Denver Metro area. They specialize in reward-based training methods, emphasizing that scientific research supports this approach as the most effective, safe, and humane way to train dogs and build a successful partnership. They strictly prohibit the use of electric, prong, or choke collars.

The facility boasts a 5400 square foot climate-controlled agility arena with state-of-the-art GrassTex turf flooring, designed for excellent traction and cushioning without rubber pellets. There is also a smaller 3500 square foot climate-controlled arena with interlocking mat flooring, primarily used for Foundations level and specific skills classes. Grassy potty areas and a human restroom are available on the property.

Team Spirit Agility offers a wide range of agility training group classes, from Basic Manners to Masters Level, typically in six-week ongoing sessions. Beyond training, the facility offers animal health services, including chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, and laser treatments by Dr. Alice Baker Meuten several times monthly. Massage therapy is also available with Emily Heitzmann and co-owner Bill Capron. The facility is sometimes available for private training and seminars when their schedule permits.

Accomplishments

Team Spirit Agility is co-owned by Janey Bell and Bill Capron. Nicole Levesque is the Lead Instructor, with over 11 years of full-time agility teaching experience, and was selected as a OneMind Dogs Assistant Coach in 2016. Morganne Wagoner-Perry is a Primary Instructor with 13 years in dog agility, a master’s degree in Education, 16 years of collegiate instruction experience, and is a certified OneMind Dogs instructor. She has achieved national success, including being a national finalist multiple times and competing as a member of Team USA at the AAO in Brazil. Janey Bell is a Certified OneMind Dogs Instructor and an agility competitor who has qualified for USDAA Cynosport semifinals. Bev Brinson, an instructor, has over 18 years of agility training experience, has earned multiple MACH titles with her dogs, and her current dog Joey has qualified for AKC Nationals four times, placing 5th in the Premier Class in 2019 and sweeping the Rockstar National Championships in 2018.

How to Get Started!

If you and your dog are new to agility, a prerequisite Pre-Agility/Skills class must be completed at Team Spirit Agility.
