Champion Camp is a board and train program located on their personal farm. It includes an initial in-home session with Edgar, 7 to 28 nights of camp at the farm, one to three follow-up sessions after camp, and one slip leash.
The program covers leash training, puppy training (starting at 16 weeks), off-leash recall, socialization, basic obedience (including GO, COME, STOP commands, adjustable in Spanish or English), overreactive behavior, and separation anxiety. They also specialize in aggressive/fear-based behaviors, requiring a call to Taylor for discussion and an assessment by Edgar during the in-home session.
Dogs stay in kennels in the trainers’ personal living room at night and spend days with their 6 personal dogs/assistants and Edgar. During the program, dogs may be exposed to their personal dog pack, other dogs in training, various farm animals (horses, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, ducks), farm visitors, and outings to stores like Lowes, Home Depot, TSC, Halls, and local state parks. A custom plan is made for each dog before arrival, focusing on specific behaviors.

About the Trainer
The Champion Farm offers dog behavioral training with a focus on “training humans” to effectively help their dogs. They provide private in-home training sessions, group classes, and a unique board and train program known as Champion Camp.
Champion Camp is an intensive learning experience where dogs live in the trainers’ personal home on their farm. Dogs socialize with the trainers’ personal dogs and farm animals, and participate in outings to local rivers, ponds, forests, and dog-friendly stores and parks.
The program is highly personalized, with a custom plan made for each dog before arrival, and they only allow five dogs in the Champion Camp program at a time. The business is run by Edgar Hernandez, his wife Taylor, and daughter Melody, operating from their farm in north Mississippi, just outside Memphis, TN.
Accomplishments
Edgar Hernandez is often called the local “dog whisperer” and specializes in training humans to help dogs. He guarantees to make progress with clients and their dogs during the first 2-3 hour in-home session.
How to Get Started!
All clients begin with a private in-home training session with Edgar, which lasts 2-3 hours. During this session, Edgar gets to know the client and their dog, and guarantees to make progress. At the end of the session, he suggests further training as needed. For Champion Camp, clients should contact them ahead of time to save a spot, and a custom plan will be made before the dog’s arrival.
