Lifetime follow-ups are provided monthly at their facility.

The Freedom Package is a 5-day program focusing on remote training collar conditioning and reliable recall under high distractions, as well as loose leash heeling. About the Trainer

The Dog College is a dog training business dedicated to keeping dogs in their homes by fostering better communication and relationships between dogs and their families. They specialize in providing outstanding dog training services through their Board & Train program, aiming for long-lasting behavioral improvements.

Their training methodology involves breaking down obedience into easy steps, initially using positive reinforcement, and then integrating a remote training collar. The program focuses on developing strong impulse control, relaxation skills, and reliable off-leash obedience.

Upon graduation, The Dog College works with owners to utilize their dog’s new skills to establish a leadership relationship, empowering owners to maintain good behavior for the dog’s lifetime. They offer ongoing support to all clients.

Accomplishments

The Dog College is led by a husband and wife training team. Jeff, the husband, began training dogs in 1989. He has trained over 900 pet companion dogs of all breeds and served as head trainer at Charlotte, NC’s largest boarding/training center for three years. Jeff has trained service dogs for the Green Beret Foundation and Charlotte Bridge Home.

He has presented dog training seminars across North and South America, worked as a Police K9 buying agent, and competed in the Schutzhund dog sport, achieving the prestigious “V rating” (94-100 points) three times, a feat accomplished by less than 1% of national-level competitors. Jeff also has experience as a trainer and handler of explosives and detection K9s and has trained with top behaviorists and trainers worldwide. Jenny, the wife, has fourteen years of dog training experience. She has competed at the Regional level of IGP dog competition and was a contributing team member of the 2010 USCA SE highest scoring club. She specializes in companion pet obedience training and developed the Adventure Training Fieldtrip program used exclusively at The Dog College.
