Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
The Dog Human Alliance offers general dog training for foundational skills, leash and recall training, and other specific goals for dogs of any age. Puppy training focuses on positive reinforcement, socialization, and bite inhibition during the unique socialization window, with private in-home options. Leash reactivity training identifies underlying causes like anxiety, fear, or frustration to help dogs change emotions and reduce lunging/barking.
Specialized programs include ‘Babies, Kids, and Dogs’ to foster safe relationships between pets and children, and ‘Dogs and Cats’ to help different species live peacefully together. The ‘Baby Prep Bundle’ is a 3-session virtual program for parents planning to welcome a new child, covering preparation and safety recommendations. Solo sessions (day training) are available where the trainer works with the dog to advance progress, followed by a joint session to transfer skills.

Testimonials
“Alison was amazing in supporting us during the most overwhelming puppyhood months and helping us set the foundation for our puppy to succeed! We’re very grateful for Alison and the Dog Human Alliance.”
– Remy and humans
“Alison is an incredibly knowledgeable, creative, caring coach for both dog and human! Working with her made such a difference for us with our furry friend. Recommend very very highly!”
– Moochie and humans
“As a mom to a labradoodle and 16 month old human, meal times used to be challenging, until I worked with Alison… Soooooooo helpful to talk through my own not so productive dog-mom behaviors. I can now eat with my family and play with my kiddo with the dog nearby, but not barking for attention. Alison was clear, supportive and incredibly well informed.”
