Dog Training Methodology
The Greater Dog offers various training programs, including specialized classes for dog show handling. The “Dog Show Handling Foundations” is a 6-week class designed for new participants in dog showing or those needing a brush-up with a new show dog. This class helps build performance from the ground up, ensuring confidence and preparation for the show ring.
For ongoing skill development, they offer “Conformation Handling – Weekly Drop In” classes. These weekly sessions are limited to 8 students to ensure personal attention and require handlers to have completed the Foundations class or possess prior handling experience. Pre-registration is required by 2:00 on Wednesdays for these drop-in sessions.
Other available programs include Puppy K-12, Agility, Nose Work, Rally and Obedience, Therapy Dog, and Specialty Behavior.
