About the Trainer

Kate Walker is the owner and dog trainer at The Incredible K9, an online and in-person dog training business based in Pleasant Gap, PA. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Animal Sciences and Secondary Education, and taught science for 10 years before focusing solely on dog training. She combines her love for animals and teaching to help owners with poorly behaved dogs.

The Incredible K9 specializes in behavioral training and obedience training, focusing on resolving behavioral challenges like reactivity, anxiety, fear, and aggression. Their unique approach, the Social Confidence Method, emphasizes reward- and relaxation-based techniques, addressing environmental factors, health, motivation, energy, emotions, and boundaries. They offer ongoing support and after-care for clients.

Accomplishments

Kate Walker, Owner and Dog Trainer, earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Equine Science from Penn State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Biology, Agriculture, and General Sciences from Lock Haven University. She taught middle and high school Science for 10 years. She is a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Her continuing education includes extensive seminars and workshops from 2015 to 2022 with notable canine behaviorists and trainers such as Mark McCabe (Training Between the Ears), Rhonda Bilodeau (My Dog Camp), Nelson Hodges (Canine-Human Relationship Institute), Chad Mackin (Pack to Basics, DePAW University Canine Campus), Heather Beck (K9 Lifeline), Jeff Gellman (Solid K9 Training), Sean O’Shea (The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation), and Tyler Muto (K9 Connection). She also completed an apprenticeship with Mitch Fletcher of K9 Heeling in Summer 2013. Kate founded The Incredible K9, LLC in 2015 and has trained hundreds of dogs in thousands of lessons over the past 10 years.
