Training programs are developed to meet individual needs. Puppy training starts at home before vaccinations are complete, focusing on motivational methods (food/toys) and consistency. It covers crate training, coming when called, basic commands (sit, down), leash manners, biting, chewing, jumping, and housebreaking.
Adult training builds on basic commands, allowing dogs to learn in low arousal with gradual distraction addition. Aggression training focuses on establishing human leadership to prevent dominance issues. Destructive behavior training identifies causes (teething, separation anxiety, boredom, lack of exercise) and emphasizes play, exercise, and basic obedience. Group training is not recommended for puppies.
