The Lucky Dog Training Center offers both group classes and one-on-one training. Programs include Puppy Kindergarten, Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Tricks, Agility, Therapy Dog preparation and testing, and Behavioral Modification and Problem-solving.
Puppy Kindergarten covers toy discrimination, housebreaking, jumping up, mouthing, nutrition, vaccines, and basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” “come,” and “leave it.” Obedience Training ranges from basic commands to high-level competition. Dog Agility Training involves directing a dog through an obstacle course for time and accuracy, with four levels offered: Introduction to Obstacles, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Basic obedience is required for agility, and class size is limited to five dog/handler teams.
Rally Obedience is a sport where teams navigate a course with numbered signs, performing various exercises. Dog Tricks class teaches commands like “rollover,” “play dead,” “high five,” “sit up,” “speak,” “whisper,” and “crawl.” Therapy Dog/AKC Canine Good Citizen training prepares dogs and handlers to volunteer in various facilities, focusing on temperament. Canine Tracking is a competitive form of Search and Rescue, where dogs follow a scent track to locate an article. Behavior Modification and Problem Solving are private lessons aimed at changing maladaptive owner practices to resolve issues like digging, chewing, barking, and jumping up.

The Lucky Dog Training Center is a premier dog training facility located in a beautiful pastoral setting near Port Townsend, in Beaver Valley, Chimacum. It features a heated, padded training room, a 100’ x 100’ fully equipped outdoor agility ring, and a 15-acre tracking field.
They offer a variety of group classes and one-on-one training sessions. Their curriculum includes Puppy Kindergarten, Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Tricks, Agility, Therapy Dog preparation and testing, Behavioral Modification, and Problem-solving.
The center specializes in positive training methods, utilizing clickers, treats, and praise. They explicitly state that they never use force, coercion, or leash corrections with any dogs in their classes. The primary trainer, Georgia Towle, has over 34 years of professional dog training experience and refines her proven methods of positive reinforcement training techniques, avoiding aversives and using scientific-based training for optimal results.
Accomplishments
The trainer, Georgia Towle, has been a professional dog trainer for over 34 years. She is a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator for the AKC (American Kennel Club) and a therapy dog evaluator for Olympic Mountain Pet Pals in Jefferson County.
Georgia is accredited as a canine behavior consultant and is currently enrolled in The Academy for Dog Trainers’ two-year program, requiring continuing education credits to maintain her designation. She has shown her dogs to championships in both conformation and performance events, receiving recognition and awards at local and national levels, including the National Agility Championships and the AKC/Eukanuba National Agility Invitational.
She has served as an expert witness on animal behavior for the court system in Washington state and volunteered with Pasado’s Safe Haven, assisting in the rescue of hundreds of dogs after Hurricane Katrina, where she was in charge of ‘caution dogs’.
