Testimonials

Have to share a situation in which your training helped greatly. On a walk, I stepped on the leash to readjust and it slipped away under the snow and Ellie took off for home and toward a busy street! I panicked and started to go after her then realized I wouldn’t catch her and remembered your tip…walk in the opposite direction and do something a bit crazy. It was hard to trust the move but it worked, she came running back and was saved! See you Saturday,

We want to tell you about a close encounter with coyotes that occurred last Sunday morning around 7:00 a.m. I took out my greyhound, Tango, as I do every morning into our back yard. Tango is a very keen dog and as soon as we rounded the house he grew really tall and his ears stood straight up. I followed his gaze and saw a huge coyote on the back section of our yard- I sternly told him “Good morning- Go Away!” There was also a neighbor’s dog running around in the woods on the side of our house with another coyote. At the same time, I put into practice all of the tools that we have been working on in our training with you. Tango was totally focused on me during this incident ….he was especially responsive to my clicking and rewarding. I was so impressed with his behavior and focus during all the chaos! As a rule, our checklist leaving the house is our pouch filled with training treats, our clicker and our phone. In the past five months that we have been training with you, we feel it’s important to review our lessons each and every walk. We can’t tell you how grateful we are to have entrusted our new journey with Tango to you and your wonderful, useful and gentle training methods. We look forward to adding many more tools to aid Tango’s focus and behavior ! Thank you,
-Felicia and David Hayes (And Tango)

It’s been about 1 year since I reached out to Michaela for help. My GSD Ginger, became completely fear reactive after the passing of our older shepherd. She couldn’t be around other dogs anymore, and was petrified of people suddenly. I had no idea wha

About the Trainer

We are The Om Studio, Om Obedience Professional Dog Training, a positive reinforcement-based dog training business serving the South Shore of Massachusetts. Founded in 2009 by Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) Michaela Anne Collins, we help dog owners build peaceful, lasting relationships with their dogs through science-backed, reward-based methods. We offer group classes, private training sessions, puppy preschool, behavior modification, and Comfort Dog Certification at partner locations across the region. Our team includes certified trainers who are members of the APDT, IAABC, and PPG, and we are Fear Free Certified. We specialize in helping dogs with reactivity, fearfulness, leash pulling, separation anxiety, and puppy socialization. Our mission is to keep dogs in their forever homes by empowering owners with effective, compassionate training tools.

We operate without a physical facility, holding all classes and private sessions at partner locations including A Dog’s Day Away in Holbrook, Jillian’s Pooch Paradise in Raynham, Willard Veterinary Clinic in Quincy, and others. We also offer OMDay Summer Camp for dogs and a unique Comfort Dog Certification program for dogs supporting first responders. Our trainers are actively involved in continuing education, attending conferences with leaders like Dr. Ian Dunbar and Karen Pryor, and mentoring new trainers through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy.

We serve dogs of all ages — puppies, adolescents, adults, and seniors — and work with all breeds and sizes, including small, medium, large, giant, and brachycephalic dogs. Our approach is rooted in positive reinforcement using clickers, food rewards, and harnesses, with no use of corrections, pinch collars, or e-collars. We also offer pet CPR and first aid instruction to pet owners and professionals.
