Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
Equipment:
- ✓ Food Rewards
Beverly’s dog training program, known as “empathic dog training,” aims to help owners understand their dog’s needs, responses, and feelings. The methodology focuses on developing mutual trust and respect between the dog and owner. It incorporates positive reinforcement along with gentle and humane negative consequences when necessary, similar to how one might raise a child.
The program emphasizes ongoing communication, play, exercise, and consistent practice to build a strong relationship and trust. It encourages owners to use everyday interactions as training opportunities, such as making the dog work for meals or asking for permission to get on furniture. Private training includes ongoing support and free group practice sessions.
