- ✓ Positive with Some Corrections
The Southern Dog offers a variety of training programs tailored to different needs and ages. Their “Private One on One Classes” are held at their outdoor office, focusing on behavior analysis, basic commands, and socialization over 6-8 sessions, with free access to group sessions afterward.
For intensive training, they provide “In our home training” (board and train) where dogs stay for 1-2 weeks, including two owner-training sessions at the owner’s home and mobile viewing of the dog. Puppy-specific board and train programs range from 1 to 6 weeks, covering potty training, kennel training, manners, and advanced commands like “no nip,” “no jump,” “Leave It,” “Enough,” “Leash,” “Wait,” “With Me,” “Focus,” and “Threshold.” The 6-week “Extreme Puppy” course also includes extensive dog and human socialization. All puppy board and train programs include owner instruction and free access to group puppy classes, plus discounts on future advanced training.
Other programs include “Learn and Burn” day training for current customers, “Long Distance Training” via 6 one-hour video chat sessions, and a “1 time assessment and home training program” which is a 4-hour session with the trainer providing a customized plan and notes, with ongoing Zoom support. They also offer specialized “Special Needs Training/Service Dog” programs, customized to the owner’s needs, and can assist in locating suitable dogs for service training.
