About the Trainer
Jamie, the trainer at The Speaking Dog Training Co., has nearly 20 years of professional experience working with pet dogs, from puppies to seasoned canines. Her primary goal is to help people understand the “WHYs” of their dog’s behaviors, fostering a deeper understanding of how dogs perceive the world. This approach forms the foundation for every behavior plan she designs.
The company focuses on meeting individual dog needs, creating predictable routines, and building communication skills rather than just teaching a list of obedience behaviors. They exclusively employ force-free, science-based methods, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment that builds trust and strong relationships. The team includes “teacher dogs” Sunny and Lady, a decoy dog Hank, trainer’s husband Geoff, and even five hens, all of whom assist in various aspects of training and confidence building.
Accomplishments
Jamie has nearly 20 years of professional experience working with pet dogs. She is a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant-Knowledge Assessed® and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed® through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She is also a Licensed Family Dog Mediator®, educated in the internationally recognized L.E.G.S® model.
