Testimonials

Jake and Anna were amazing trainers for my Maple girl! She is extremely distractable, curious and high energy and is my first dog, so I had no idea where to start. In that regard, they had to train me almost as much as they had to train her, but that’s exactly what I needed! They were extremely helpful on explaining the entire process to me, getting her to a really good point and giving me what I needed to keep that going in between sessions and after she completed her training. Not to mention she absolutely loved going there and would get so excited every time we pulled in. My walks with Maple are significantly more enjoyable now and as she continues out of the puppy phase and we continue to work on and implement all the training that they did for us, she just gets better behaved and each day I’m more excited and comfortable to bring her in public or leave her out in the house. Getting Maple trained here has made me enjoy having her a million times more.

I can’t recommend The Spot 4 Dogs Scenic City enough! My two French bulldogs, ages 4 and 6, completed a three-week board and train program, and the results have been incredible. Before training, we struggled with obedience, leash manners, and aggressive behaviors towards other dogs, but now they are so well-behaved and responsive. We can even take them for walks in public and enjoy all of Chattanooga’s outdoor dog friendly establishments.

Jake kept me updated throughout the program, sending progress reports and videos, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear they truly cared about my dogs and tailored the training to their individual needs. Since bringing them home, I’ve noticed a huge difference, and I feel so much more confident handling them and our adventures around town.

If you’re looking for a dedicated and professional trainer, I highly recommend The Spot 4 Dogs Scenic City and their board and train program. It was absolutely worth every single penny!

I’ll start with the quick summary: I highly recommend The Spot 4 Dogs- the time our dogs spent with Jake was an incredible investment and they are much more well behaved. If you need help training your dogs, look no further.

Now, I digress….

I think many of us get a dog with this idealistic vision that we are going to invest the time, effort, and resources to train them. They’re going to be good dogs; the best dogs! And, though we are well intentioned, time has a way of getting away from us all. So day by day, week by week, we try a little training here and there- sit, stay, good boy. But, though they are also well intentioned, dogs will be dogs. And dogs aren’t born speaking English or following commands.

Suddenly you look at your home and realize that it is the dogs’ home. And you are simply living your life around them. Everything you do is done with them at the forefront of the process. You go to get your seat on the couch after work and there’s a dog there- a dog who has no intention of giving up their spot. You hesitate to invite guests over because they are going to be pounced on by your rambunctious mongrels. And you slowly accept this life as normal.

Then we had a baby- and things had to change. It is said that dogs start to exhibit behavioral issues when there are changes to their environment. Well, our two dogs had a violent tussle in close proximity to our baby. That’s when we called Jake.

Taco and Clyde spent three weeks at Boot Camp. It was hard for us, sending our little rascals away. Not always knowing how they were doing at camp. Knowing that they probably missed us. Wondering if they knew if they were ever coming home. But it was easily worth it.

I can honestly say I never thought we would be able to eat dinner- while feeding our baby (food constantly falling to the floor, taunting weaker dogs)- with our dogs patiently sitting in their spots, waiting on us to release them. We are able to take them on a walk without them turning their leashes into a twine of braided rope- walking with us and stopping with us.

It’s impressive to look back at how things were before our dogs were trained and compare it to now. They are still dogs- goofy, sweet, well-intentioned; but now they have rules and structure in their lives.

So like I said- HIGHLY recommend. See attached: Taco and Clyde (pre-intervention)
