Policies

Clients are asked to bring a blanket or bed that smells like home for their dog’s kennel to help relieve stress, and their own food to avoid gastro-intestinal stress during adjustment. Dogs are fed four small meals a day due to increased activity, and clients are advised to pack extra food.

During group playtime, dogs are evaluated, and inappropriate play is interrupted. There is a potential for minor injuries like puncture wounds and exposure to upper respiratory viruses or diarrhea due to increased activity and schedule changes. Clients are encouraged to feed a high-quality diet, keep dogs up to date on monthly parasite prevention, and research vaccinations to avoid unnecessary or over-vaccinating.

About the Trainer

The Truth About Dogs, School for Dogs, is a pet resort established in 2009 by Stephany O’Dell. They are dedicated to providing the best in reinforcement training for dogs, striving to offer a safe and positive experience for pets away from home.

The business provides a range of services including overnight boarding, doggie daycare, spa days, and obedience training programs and classes. They aim to customize training programs to suit individual needs, whether for a well-behaved canine companion or an intense competitive partner, with limited class sizes to ensure quality instruction.

For daycare, dogs can have individual playtime with a human or interact in hand-selected small groups based on size and temperament. Boarding includes outdoor potty breaks, aerobic activity, and optional group play, with a complimentary bath for stays of 7 days or more. Spa services include baths and nail trims. The facility emphasizes a positive environment and careful management of dog interactions.
