On-leash training is a 2-week program focusing on loose-leash walking, heel, down, stay, recall, and behavior correction for jumping, biting, and barking. Off-leash training is a 4-week intensive program that builds on on-leash skills, progressing to off-leash recalls at 20 feet, then 50 feet, with distractions and distance stays. All programs include socialization, confidence-building, and handler homework. Boarding and training combines overnight stays with daily training. Daycare and training allows daily drop-off/pick-up. Testimonials
“My 15-month old, 65-pound Bernedoodle puppy had me despondent… After sending my pup to Stephanie’s 5-week on- and off-leash ‘training camp’ and doing the required ‘homework’… I am ecstatic with the result! My monster has calmed down… I am enjoying her instead of being exasperated!”
– Client
“I came to TMS K9 with a 6 month old golden retriever… Now we have a 15 month old that behaves very well much of the time… I highly recommend TMS K9. They are loving, wise and wonderful.”
– Client
“TMS worked wonders with our 5 month old Tibetan terrier puppy! She returned home a completely different puppy! Stephanie and her team were so kind, patient, and responsive… We’d do it again in a heartbeat.”

About the Trainer
TMS K-9 Connections is a family-run dog training and boarding facility located in Anacortes, Washington, founded by Stephanie, a trainer with over twenty years of experience. They offer on-leash and off-leash training programs, boarding, daycare, and private training, all centered around building loving, willful compliance through connection-based methods. Their approach is balanced, using simple corrections with training collars or vibrating e-collars paired with love-based rewards like touch, eye contact, and play—never food. They tailor programs to each dog’s needs and the handler’s lifestyle, including support for families with children, seniors, or those with mobility challenges. Their facility features spacious, climate-controlled kennels, daily outdoor outings, massages, and trail walks, making it a “second home” for dogs. They also offer raw meat diets and supplements for canine nutrition.
Clients can choose from intensive board-and-train programs (2 or 4 weeks), daycare-and-train options for locals, private sessions, or group classes. The team provides frequent updates, photos, and homework guidance to ensure consistency at home. They serve Skagit, Whatcom, Snohomish, and King Counties.
Stephanie was mentored by renowned trainer Theodore Mark Stover and inherited his business after his passing. The facility is award-winning, recognized as Best Family-Run Dog Training Company in Washington State by Lux Life Magazine.
