“We were looking for a place to train our 6 month old English Springer Spaniel/Australian Cattle Dog… After the training was all done and the time they spent with us at the go home going over everything very thorough… Dakota is such a joy and loves learning.”
– James Meredith, Linda Branch, Dakotas owners
“Nathan and Linda are amazing. They took our rambunctious seven-month-old puppy and when we were reunited three weeks later, he was the same, sweet boy, but a well-behaved, perfect gentlemen.”

About the Trainer
Torpedo K9 is a professional dog training business founded by Nathan Kelley, a nationally recognized expert with nearly 30 years of experience in K9 training, including work with the Henrico County Police Department’s K9 unit. They specialize in board and train programs for dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral issues—including aggression, reactivity, fear, and anxiety—with no dog turned away due to breed or behavior. Their training takes place on seven acres of natural, fenced-in land in New Kent County, VA, featuring climate-controlled kennels, indoor and outdoor training areas, and ample space for play. Each program includes personalized training, video updates, and a thorough go-home session where owners learn to maintain progress using the same tools and techniques. They provide a take-home e-collar and prong collar as part of their training, with instruction on humane, pack-based use. In addition to training, they offer boarding for previous clients at $60/day with basic maintenance training. Their approach emphasizes owner education, structure, and real-world exposure to ensure long-term success.
They also offer a specialized puppy program that begins with in-home guidance from 8 weeks to 6 months, followed by a two-week board and train. All programs are designed to build confidence, obedience, and self-regulation in dogs, helping owners achieve off-leash freedom and calm behavior in public settings.
