Policies

Trace Your Path Agility complies with all State of Colorado & Mesa County Guidelines regarding Covid-19, which may affect class size and requirements. Classes may be cancelled due to weather or other conditions, and clients are advised to contact the business for inquiries.

All dogs training at the facility must be current on vaccinations according to state/county requirements and their veterinarian’s protocol, with proof included in the registration form. Facility rules require all dogs to be on leash from the car to the crate to the start line, except in the warm-up area. Clients must ensure their dog is warmed up and ready, clean up after their dog, and not move any equipment without permission.

Trace Your Path Agility, LLC is a dog agility training center located in Fruita, Colorado, primarily serving the Fruita, Grand Junction, and Mesa County areas. They offer training for dogs and handlers competing in beginning to advanced level agility, with a focus on improving connection and handling skills. The instructor began their agility journey 8 years ago and started instructing in 2014.

The agility training takes place on a full-size, completely fenced agility field in Fruita, which features a dog-friendly dirt/sand surface providing a balance of cushion and traction. All agility equipment is new and designed to meet AKC regulations.

In addition to agility, Trace Your Path Agility provides classes for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, including CGC, AKC Urban CGC, and AKC Community Canine. They also offer AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes for puppies aged 4 months to 1 year. These non-agility classes are held indoors on turf flooring at the K9 Powersports building in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Accomplishments

The instructor started their agility adventure 8 years ago and began instructing agility at a local Albuquerque dog club in 2014. They are a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. The business has participated in the 2021 AKC Nationals.

How to Get Started!

To sign up for a class, clients can complete the Online Registration Form or download, print, and fill out the Registration Form and Liability Waiver. A basic obedience class is a prerequisite for all Canine Good Citizen classes.

All puppies and dogs must be current on their vaccinations, and proof must be included with the registration form. Puppies and dogs must be on a collar and a 4ft-6ft leash; harnesses or retractable leashes are not permitted. Clients should bring a variety of dog treats to class, and toys may be used, but those that distract other dogs should be limited. Treats and toys are not allowed during the test.
