About the Trainer
Training For Trust LLC is a personalized dog training business based in Livermore, CA, serving the Tri-Valley area. Founded by Owen and Elena, the team specializes in helping dog owners build trusting, respectful relationships with their pets through balanced training methods rooted in NePoPo® principles and canine behavior science. They offer private lessons, board and train programs, and daily/overnight boarding services, all tailored to the individual needs of the dog and owner. Their approach emphasizes education for both the dog and the human, ensuring lasting results through teamwork and consistency. They work with all breeds and behavioral issues, including reactivity, fearfulness, separation anxiety, and resource guarding, and prioritize health, safety, and compassion in every interaction.
Owen and Elena bring over 15 years of combined hands-on experience, including fostering dogs with severe behavioral challenges, competing with their own dogs, and training service animals. Their personal dogs—including a service dog, a reactive rescue, and a senior dog with hearing loss—serve as living examples of their training philosophy and commitment to real-world application. They also provide ongoing support through video updates, text communication, and even in-home assistance during stressful situations like vet visits.
Accomplishments
Owen and Elena are both certified as Dog Behaviorists and graduates of TheK9Advocate’s Balanced Trainer Academy Master Program. They are NePoPo® Silver and Gold School graduates, NePoPo® Gold Multiplicators, and certified in electronic collar use. They have over 15 years of experience fostering and rehabilitating behaviorally challenged dogs, and both actively train their own dogs in advanced skills including scent work, service tasks, and obedience.
