About the Trainer
Training with Bria – The Den is a dog training business founded by Bria Tiro in 2018, located in Peabody, MA, and now serving Southern NH. The business offers personalized, relationship-based training that prioritizes understanding dog psychology before obedience. Bria and her team of five female trainers all began as clients with problematic dogs, bringing empathetic, real-world experience to their work. They use methods inspired by experts like Cesar Millan and the Monks of New Skete, focusing on balance, consistency, time, and patience. Services include 1-on-1 private sessions, group classes, in-home training, day training programs, puppy classes, and structured pack day training (a three-day-a-week daycare). They also offer a unique Shadow Program for owners to observe training sessions and sell slip leads designed to help dogs rely more on their sense of smell for calm behavior. Monthly pack walks are offered free to clients to reinforce skills in a social setting. Their approach emphasizes building trust, leadership, and lifelong bonds between dogs and owners.
They operate from a dedicated facility called “The Den” and offer in-home sessions for clients in Southern NH after an initial facility visit. Their non-profit, Saving with Bria, rescues and rehabilitates anxious or neglected dogs, many of which are later placed with clients who receive ongoing training support. Clients report dramatic improvements in reactivity, leash pulling, separation anxiety, resource guarding, and fearfulness, especially with complex behavioral cases.
The business fosters a strong community through free monthly pack walks, Instagram updates, and ongoing support, making training a continuous, supportive journey rather than a one-time fix.
Accomplishments
Bria Tiro transitioned from a Boston Police 911 operator to full-time dog trainer after years of personal experience with dogs. She studied under renowned behavior professionals including Cesar Millan, Cheri Wulff Lucas, and the Monks of New Skete. She founded Training with Bria in 2018 and co-founded the non-profit Saving with Bria, which rescues and rehabilitates severely anxious dogs. Her team consists of five trainers who all began as clients with challenging dogs.
