Packages cover: Puppy 101 (4 lessons), Basic Training (3 lessons), Intermediate Training (3 lessons), Complete Fundamentals Training (6 lessons), Advanced Training (2 lessons), and Complete Loose Leash Logic Training (8 lessons). They also offer General Manners/Problem Solving, Tricks/Special Tasks/Sports, and AKC Canine Good Citizen Test preparation. nn
**Board & Train** programs immerse dogs in Lauren’s home environment in East Dallas, training one dog family at a time. Programs are 3 or 6 weeks long and include follow-up in-home sessions and a Basic Training DVD. They are designed for potty-trained dogs at least six months old, or puppies up to six months old (Puppy 101 and Puppy Complete Fundamentals). These programs are not suitable for dogs with severe anxiety, fear, or aggression issues. Behaviors taught include appropriate chewing, barking, not jumping, calmness in exciting situations, mealtime etiquette, social skills, loose leash walking, sit, stay, come, drop it, leave it, out of a room, stay inside/outside, down, and visitor etiquette.
nn
The **Legacy Dogs** program is a puppy program where Lauren personally selects and trains small to medium-sized hypoallergenic pure-bred puppies from breeders. Puppies stay with Lauren from the time they leave their breeder until they complete their training (typically 5-8 months old). They are fully potty trained, crate trained, groomed, socialized, and learn manners and obedience. Owners are encouraged to meet with their puppy during its stay to practice obedience and bond. Legacy Dogs go to their forever homes intact, with pedigrees, necessary vet exams, vaccinations, microchips, and a raw diet education if desired.

About the Trainer
Traveling Dog Trainer is a dog training business led by Lauren, who has a natural ability to communicate with dogs and has been professionally training since 2005. She developed her own training method called Loose Leash Logic, which focuses on communicating with dogs in a language they naturally understand, emphasizing their pack animal instincts. This method involves no physical punishment, relying instead on patient guidance, positive attitude, tone of voice, and body language to teach impulse control, patience, and respect.
nn
The business offers various services including in-home training, board & train programs, and a unique “Legacy Dogs” puppy program. Lauren’s preference is always for in-home training to achieve the best, longest-lasting results, but she also offers in-home board & train at her own home for one family’s dog(s) at a time, catering to those with little time or physical limitations. She also provides boarding for dogs who have completed at least her Basic Training.
nn
Lauren’s home in East Dallas features a large backyard with a menagerie of animals, including her own dogs, turkeys, chickens, sheep, and goats, providing a rich environment for dogs in her care. She is experienced with a wide range of breeds and sizes, from a 1.5lb Yorkie to a 180lb Great Dane, and has trained hundreds of dogs from over 149 breeds. She also raw feeds her own dogs and can accommodate special diets or transition dogs to a raw diet during their stay.
Accomplishments
Lauren, The Traveling Dog Trainer, has been a professional dog trainer and behaviorist since 2005. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences, which provided her with a scientific understanding of behavior and learning. She has professionally trained hundreds of dogs from over 149 breeds, ranging from a 1.5lb Yorkie to a 180lb Great Dane.
nn
Lauren developed her own training method, Loose Leash Logic, based on her extensive experience and studies. Her personal dogs, Charlie (a mutt) and Jacob (an American Pit Bull Terrier), had working vocabularies of over 225 words, performed in dock diving, cart pulling, and agility. Charlie earned his certification by the Delta Society as a Therapy Dog in 2004 and starred in two productions of Annie. Lauren and her dogs traveled the country, attending Major League Baseball games and other dog-friendly events, enjoying significant freedom due to their reliable obedience.
