Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
Equipment:
- ✓ Food Rewards
- ✓ Obstacle Courses
Tricky Tailz offers private one-on-one training sessions and occasional small group classes. Their training focuses on making dogs think, using their minds and bodies, and they specialize in Trick Training, Obedience, and Canine Conditioning.
Private sessions are custom-tailored to the dog and handler, emphasizing handler skills, and they primarily use positive reinforcement. The Canine Conditioning Foundations class is a beginner-level group class focusing on fitness foundations, assessing dog structure, and safe exercise performance; it is a 6-week class with a 2-week break.
Trick training aims to improve communication and bond, teaching dogs how to learn and problem-solve, which leads to increased attention and focus, and it is based entirely on positive reinforcement. Obedience training is offered in 30 and 60-minute private sessions and is custom-tailored; they can train dog-aggressive dogs for an additional cost but refer human-aggressive cases.

Testimonials
“Lots of fun tricks, simple steps to learn. Loved your enthusiasm, you were motivating!”
– Alan
“It was fun and a lot easier than I thought it would be to teach him. It was great!”
– Meredith
“I really appreciated that you gave different levels to tricks (i.e. shake or high five or wave.) I liked the variety you had. I also liked that when my dog had difficulty with balancing a treat on her nose, you were prepared with an alternative trick for her to work on.”
– Patti
About the Trainer
Tricky Tailz Dog Training offers positive-first training that is fun for dogs and their humans. They specialize in training that encourages dogs to use their minds as much as their bodies, focusing on trick training, fitness and conditioning, and practical obedience.
Their training style aims to increase attention and focus in dogs, and they teach handlers how to best motivate their dogs to learn new things. Tricky Tailz is a small company dedicated to providing a premium, personalized experience for its customers.
They believe in one-on-one teaching and learning, offering custom-tailored curricula based on the individual strengths of both the dog and the handler. They also help clients identify and increase their dog’s natural drives.

How to Get Started!
All dogs must undergo a $50 assessment before beginning obedience training. During this assessment, the trainer evaluates the dog’s and handler’s existing knowledge, checks for aggression, and ensures a shared understanding of training goals.
