If you follow their recommendations and instructions you can have a well behaved dog. About the Trainer
True Connections Canine Academy (TCCA) was a dog training business founded by Patricia Linehan, Ph.D., KPA-CTP, CCPDT-KA, that offered positive reinforcement-based group classes and training on a fully fenced campus in Kasota, MN. The academy provided a wide range of training options including manners, tricks, agility, and herding, with an emphasis on building trust and connection between dogs and their owners. TCCA’s facility featured a safe, farm-like environment where dogs could socialize with other animals and experience real-world distractions. All instructors were certified and committed to science-based, humane methods. TCCA closed to in-person lessons in spring 2026, but its legacy includes a strong reputation for compassionate, high-quality training and a community of satisfied clients. Patricia has recommended former TCCA trainer Christine Engel at Blue Ribbon Dogs and Alison at Hearts and Paws as alternatives for ongoing training needs.

She had 40 years of experience in higher education and dog training. TCCA’s instructors were required to maintain continuing education and adhere to science-based, ethical training standards.
