Untamed Dog Co. offers programs designed to keep owners in control of their dog’s education, teaching owners to be their dog’s trainer. All clients receive Training Workbooks to track progress and stay organized.

Private Lessons with Mariano:
* Evaluation: An important first step costing $60, which is applied towards your chosen program. It allows for discussion of needs and program selection.
* Untamed Fundamentals (Level 1, 6 lessons, $990): Designed to give dogs a strong foundation in training and good manners, covering basic obedience (Sit, Down, Stay, leash manners, Recall), enrichment, and daily structure. Ideal for puppies and adult dogs with no major behavioral issues.
* Untamed Mastery (Level 2, 4 lessons, $660): For dogs who have completed Level 1, this program furthers their education by covering intermediate obedience (Place, Heel, Out, Long-leash Recall) and improving reliability in real-world settings.
* Untamed Off leash (Level 3, 4 lessons, $660): For dogs who have completed Levels 1 & 2, this program focuses on proper introductions to off-leash tools, off-leash recalls, obedience, and walking, teaching owners how to give their dog freedom safely.
* Mariano offers travel appointments on Saturdays and Sundays within a 30-mile distance from the facility for a $40 travel fee.

Private Lessons with Emily: Emily, the facility manager and board and train specialist, provides mid-training progress lessons and post-training follow-up lessons, which are included in the cost of the programs.

Board & Train Programs:
* Untamed Fundamentals Course (2 weeks, $2,500): A two-week program establishing a strong foundation in training and good manners, including leash work, enrichment, and daily structure. Suitable for puppies and adult dogs without behavioral issues.
* Untamed Mastery Program (additional 2 weeks, $2,000): Builds on the fundamentals, improving reliability in real-world settings.
* Untamed Academy Program (4 weeks, $4,000): Their most popular program, taking a dog’s education from start to finish. It blends good training fundamentals with personalized lesson-planning, covering all basic obedience (Sit, Down, Stay, Heel, Place, Out, Recall), enrichment, daily routines, and specific needs. Perfect for dogs of all ages with no more than minor behavioral issues.
* Behavioral Rehab (6 weeks, $6,000): A six-week program for dogs with more serious behavioral issues. It covers Academy-level training protocols and delves into behavioral aspects at a comfortable pace to achieve lasting change.
* All Board & Train programs include progress lessons midway through the stay, a lesson at pick-up, and two additional post-training lessons. Dogs completing a Mastery-level board and train program also receive free lifetime access to their Alumni Group Class.

Pricing Summary

An initial evaluation costs $60, which is applied towards the training program. A travel evaluation incurs an additional $40 fee.

* Holiday rate: $70 per night (applies to major national holidays and immediate surrounding dates)

Daycare:
* $35 per day (requires a free daycare evaluation for new dogs)

Policies

For single private lessons, 100% of the fee is collected at the time of booking to guarantee the spot. For lesson packages, the full cost is collected in one initial payment, and credits are applied as lessons are booked.

Clients must provide at least 48-hours notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson to receive a refund or have package credits returned. No-call, no-shows, or cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment will result in the forfeiture of the $60 evaluation fee.

For Board & Train programs, a 50% deposit is required to reserve a space, with the remaining 50% due before the dog goes home.

Untamed was started by Mariano, who merged lessons from working with military dogs at Lackland AFB and civilian clients, bringing the best of both worlds to their clients and their loyal companions. Their philosophy is based on three principles: improving communication, respecting boundaries, and finding common hobbies, taught via safe, simple, and proven effective techniques.

They also offer boarding for trained dogs, allowing clients peace of mind knowing their pups are with familiar trainers in a home setting. Additionally, they provide a smaller, exclusive daycare setting with extensively trained staff, ensuring safety and fun for up to 10 dogs at a time.

Accomplishments

Mariano Alvarez is the founder and head trainer of Untamed Dog Co., and a co-host of The Dog Trainer’s Podcast. He is recognized as one of the best trainers and behaviorists in Arizona and a well-respected mentor in the dog training community. His passion for dog training began during his time in the United States Air Force at the kennels at Lackland AFB.

Emily is the facility manager and board and train specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science and has five years of animal care experience across boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and shelter environments.

How to Get Started!

To begin, clients should schedule an evaluation by calling unTAMED Dog Co. An evaluation fee of $60 is charged, which is then applied towards the chosen training program. An additional $40 travel fee applies for travel evaluations.

Clients can also utilize the Gingr software through the Client Portal to create a comprehensive dog profile, request bookings, upload vaccine records, and manage invoices. All dogs must be current on Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper/Parvo (DAPP2) vaccines prior to entering the facility.
