Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

At Uodibar Kennel, individualized training is provided using a parallel path method of development and training to simultaneously challenge and teach the dog. Each dog is initially assessed and continuously re-evaluated to ensure their inherited talents reach full potential.

Personalized training programs are adapted based on factors like maturity and temperament for steady and successful development. Young dogs receive considerable exposure to both planted and wild birds. Dogs in long-term hunting or field trial training travel to Nebraska during summer for continued wild bird exposure in a better climate.

Socialization is emphasized to develop self-confidence and assertiveness, while avoiding overwhelming situations. Specific skills such as ‘heel’, ‘whoa’, ‘come’, and introduction to gunshot are taught only when the dog’s mental maturity is ready for successful accomplishment. Training is always structured to maximize the dog’s chance for success.

About the Trainer

At Uodibar Kennel, every dog receives individualized training. Their system uses a parallel path method of development and training to simultaneously challenge and teach the dog. They assess each dog initially and continuously re-evaluate them to ensure their inherited talents reach full potential.

Personalized training programs are adapted based on factors like maturity and temperament for steady and successful development. Young dogs are extensively exposed to both planted and wild birds. Dogs in long-term training for hunting or field trials travel to Nebraska during summer for continued wild bird exposure in a favorable climate.

The kennel also focuses on socializing young dogs to develop self-confidence and assertiveness, while carefully avoiding overwhelming or intimidating situations. Specific skills such as ‘heel’, ‘whoa’, ‘come’, and introduction to gunshot are taught only when the dog’s mental maturity indicates readiness. Uodibar Kennels also offers puppies and started dogs for sale, provides stud services for German Shorthaired Pointers, and sells quality gaited horses.
