Co-founded in 2016 by SFC (Ret) Ernie Rivera and Shirley Rivera, the organization has spent the last 7 years training and pairing over 300 highly trained medical service dogs to Veterans, disabled children, and Kids with Autism. With expert training and unmatched dedication, their dogs are trusted partners in the journey to healing and independence.
Accomplishments
Valor Medical Service Dogs was co-founded in 2016 by SFC (Ret) Ernie Rivera and Shirley Rivera. The co-founders spent over two years attending training courses to learn the proper way to train medical service dogs.
They have trained and paired over 300 highly trained medical service dogs. The organization has also saved 50 dogs and veterans through their Adopt Rescue Heal Program, rescuing a total of 225 dogs through this initiative. They have provided $2,100,000.00 in free service dogs and training to recipients.
How to Get Started!
To get started, eligible individuals can apply to receive a service dog. Eligibility includes veterans, disabled children, and individuals with special needs, including those with autism.
