About the Trainer

Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club is a non-profit, AKC-licensed dog obedience club that has been helping humans train their dogs since 1962, with their first sanctioned match in 1964. Their main goal is to produce obedient dogs with good manners for home, public areas, and in the presence of other dogs, making them wonderful family companions.

The club also provides opportunities for people and their dogs to show and earn titles in AKC trials, including obedience, rally, agility, field trials, tracking, and nose work. They emphasize building communication, understanding, and mutual respect between dogs and their owners, establishing the owner as an effective “pack leader.”

They offer three training sessions a year: Winter, Spring, and Fall. Beyond training, the club encourages fun with dogs and holds obedience and rally trials twice a year. General meetings are usually held the first Tuesday of each month and include updates, event announcements, and information on dog health and ownership.

Accomplishments

Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club received its official charter by the AKC in 1962 and held its first sanctioned match two years later. Over the years, the club has held over fifty shows and assisted hundreds of humans in training their dogs. Members have achieved numerous obedience and sports titles with their canine companions.
