Wag the Dog NYC offers comprehensive training programs tailored to various needs. Private Basic Manners Training helps adolescent and adult dogs with issues like leash pulling, lack of focus, poor recall, jumping, and attention-seeking, teaching skills such as sit-stay, leave-it, and polite greetings. Private Puppy Training focuses on young puppies, addressing mouthing, house-training, crate training, separation anxiety, and chewing, while also teaching basic manners like name recognition and loose leash walking. Both private programs include weekly Zoom check-in calls and email support.

For Dog Behavior Problems, the business addresses a wide range of challenges including reactivity and aggression towards people or other dogs, inter-dog conflict, resource guarding, fearfulness, excessive barking, and separation anxiety, using humane techniques to foster better coping skills. The specialized 6-week Reactive Dog Training Package is a hybrid program combining virtual consultations with in-person lessons at McCarren Park, designed to reduce reactivity in dogs on walks.

Cat Behavior Consultations are available for feline companions experiencing litter box issues, inter-cat aggression, handling aggression, and rough play, and also assist with new cat introductions. Clicker training for cats is also offered. Group classes include the Virtual Puppy Head-Start Class for puppies 8 weeks to 5 months, covering socialization, biting, potty training, destructive behaviors, and basic manners. The Basic Manners Class, for dogs 5 months and older, teaches loose leash walking, leave-it, focus, impulse control, and polite greetings. The Semi-Private Reactive Dog Class, limited to two dogs, provides a safe environment for reactive or aggressive dogs to learn alternative behaviors using motivational, reward-based, force-free methods.

Testimonials

“I would recommend Inna to anyone and everyone as she takes pride in her work and really takes the time to understand/study the situation. She’s very down to earth and the dogs loves her. Can’t wait until the next appointment. Thanks Wag The Dog!”
– Edwin, Brooklyn

“We initially hired Inna to help us out when we brought our new puppy home 4 months ago. She’s been very responsive and reliable ever since. When we have an occasional question, she writes back instead of trying to push us into another training session. We also attended her puppy class for basic training. She kept the class small (5 dogs) so we all received her individual attention. We highly recommend Inna’s one-on-one, as well as classroom training sessions to everyone :)”
– Zs, Brooklyn

“Wag The Dog saved us! Our dog Houston was a mess when it came to other dogs. He was extremely reactive around other dogs and neighbors in our building, but after attending the reactive dog class (and of course continuing the training everyday), he has been a million times better. Inna’s class was so helpful and motivating. Now we can walk him down the street confident that he won’t lunge after his neighbors!”
– Heath, Long Island City
