WAGS Dog Training offers a variety of programs including group classes, private training, and boarding & training. Group classes include Puppy Pre-School for puppies 8-16 weeks, focusing on basic manners, socialization, house-training, and crate training. FUNdamentals (Basic Household Manners) is for dogs with no formal training or young dogs under 20 weeks (if they completed puppy preschool), covering loose leash walking, sit/stay, come, drop it, leave it, polite greetings, and addressing behavioral challenges. Advanced FUNdamentals builds on basic obedience, working on off-leash training, consistent healing, longer stays, and commands with distractions. All group classes meet weekly for 5 one-hour sessions on Sundays.

Community Class Canine is a group class taught in real-world settings, designed for students to advance their training and prepare for CGC and Therapy Dog testing. These classes meet for 5 one to one-and-a-half hour sessions, with testing fees included. Therapy Dog / CGC training specifically prepares dogs to pass the AKC Community Canine and Therapy Dog Test, requiring a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) award and an AKC number.

Private training options are tailored to individual needs, addressing issues like potty and crate training, excessive barking, chewing, rushing doors, jumping, shyness, and basic manners (sit, stay, fetch, down, leave it, drop it). They also offer specialized private consultations for managing multiple dog households, Puppy Life Skills (an in-home puppy pre-school for 8-18 week old puppies), Leash Training Skills, and Dog & New Baby consultations to prepare dogs for a new baby. Reactive/Fearful Dog Behavior Modification is offered only through private sessions, starting with an in-home evaluation to address behaviors like barking, lunging, and fear, with specific cases like fears/phobias and separation anxiety requiring multiple visits.

Boarding & Training programs provide a unique private boarding experience in a home environment, limited to 5-7 dogs. This includes full boarding services (feeding, walks, playtime, play groups) and personalized training sessions focused on positive behavior, with field trips. Behaviors addressed include chewing, barking, jumping, biting/mouthing, potty training, walking nicely on leash, social skills, and listening despite distractions. Puppy Boarding & Training is available for 1-4 weeks, providing a foundation in good behavior, socialization, bell training, crate training, and basic commands like sit, down, leave it, off, drop it, focus, and puppy etiquette. They do not accept fearful dogs over 4 months or adult aggressive dogs for Board & Training.

Pricing Summary

Pricing for packages and private sessions requires calling the business for rates. Group classes have specific pricing: Puppy Pre-School, FUNdamentals, and Advanced FUNdamentals are $110.00 with cash/check or $120.00 with PayPal per dog for the entire 5-session course.

Community Class Canine and Therapy Dog Training cost $125 with cash/check or $135.00 with PayPal per dog per session, with testing fees included for AKC CGC. Students repeating the Community Class Canine receive a 50% discount. Payment is required prior to training for Boarding & Training programs.

Policies

Payment is required prior to training for Boarding & Training programs. The business does not accept fearful dogs over 4 months or adult aggressive dogs for their Board & Training programs. For all classes, choker collars, flexi/zip leads, or back clasp harnesses are strictly prohibited; only soft treats, plain 6 ft leashes, plain buckle collars, or Easy Walk Harnesses are permitted.

The business encourages the entire family to participate in both classes and private training sessions.

A unique advantage of WAGS Dog Training is their home-based Board & Training camps. During these camps, dogs live in the home of dog trainers, not a commercial kennel, ensuring a family setting. They train 7 days a week, maintaining structure, good behavior, and potty training 24/7, using effective and realistic techniques without harsh methods.

WAGS & Wiggles offers fun, positive classes suitable for dogs of all sizes, including purebreds, mixed breeds, and rescues. They aim to help families achieve a well-adjusted, confident canine family member.

In addition to training, they offer private boarding in a home environment nestled on 6 acres, with two 1/4 acre play yards and 2.5 acres of fenced-in secure area. They take a limited number of canine companions (up to 5-7 dogs/puppies) at one time, prioritizing current and past training students for reservations.

They also provide specialized consultations such as preparing dogs for a new baby’s arrival and helping future owners select the right puppy based on temperament and energy level.
