Wasatch Peak Dog Training offers three main programs: Puppy Training, 9-Week DIY, and Board & Train.
The Puppy Training program is for puppies under 5 months old and focuses on engagement, potty and crate training, manners (jumping, nipping, chewing), basic obedience (sit, down, recall), and proper socialization. This program offers three formats: Private Training (one-on-one in your home for 4 weeks), Group Training (at their West Haven location for 4 weeks, requiring a minimum of 3 participants), and Puppy Board & Train (2 weeks living with the trainer, followed by 4 weeks of in-home private training).
The 9-Week DIY Program is designed for dogs 5 months and older, offering a hands-on approach for owners. It consists of 9 consecutive weekly sessions conducted in the client’s home. A professional trainer guides owners through techniques and provides at-home exercises. The program aims to solve all behavior issues and achieve off-leash reliability, focusing on commands like Place, Leave it, Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Heel (on and off leash), Waiting at doorways, Loading in/out of a vehicle, and Public access training. All commands are taught off-leash using the “3 D’s of training” (Duration, Distance, and Distraction). Owners are expected to dedicate 1.5 hours daily to training.
The Board & Train Program is for dogs 5 months and older, where the dog lives with the trainer for 3-4 weeks for an intensive transformation. The daily routine includes play, one-on-one training, quiet times, multiple walks, off-leash outings, and field trips to dog-friendly stores. Dogs are crated at night. After the board and train, several private in-home sessions are provided to ensure owners can maintain the learned behaviors. This program aims to address the root of behavioral problems holistically, focusing on the same advanced obedience commands as the 9-Week DIY program, all performed off-leash with Duration, Distance, and Distraction. For puppies under 5 months, a 2-week Board & Train is offered, followed by 4 weeks of in-home private puppy training.

Testimonials
“As first time dog owners we wanted to make sure we took the time and effort to train our dog properly. We were so impressed with Wasatch Peak Dog Training. Kyle was kind, patient, and thorough with us and our new puppy. Every training sessions included owner participation, past lesson reviews and new additional lessons. He even checked on us between lessons to see how everything was progressing. We would highly recommend Kyle and Wasatch Peak Dog Training! Worth every penny spent!!”
– Rocky & Lucky
“Thanks to Wasatch Peak Dog Training we have the best behaved dog now. Freyja used to be terrified of new places, care rides, or basically anything new or noisy. Now when i ask her if she wants to come to work with me she gets excited, jumps right in the car, and is perfectly well-mannered all day long. I’m even able to put her in her place command, which means she stays on her spot, leave to go the the bathroom ans she’s still in the exact same spot when i come back to my desk! #dreamcometure”
– Mercedes & Freyja
“Kyle was so good to work with. He helped us gain the skills that have enabled us to have the relationship we’ve always dreamed of with our dog (Scout). We spent over $3,000 in vet bills before we decided that enough was enough. Scout comes with us everywhere now. It’s a crazy feeling when people clamor over your dog because it’s so sweet and mild mannered. My Mom even likes Scout, AND SHE HATES DOGS! So excited for what the future holds for me and my little buddy.”
– Adam & Scout
