Western Lakes Training Club offers a range of dog training programs. Their Agility program is an 8-week course designed for both dog and handler, with various levels. Foundation Agility is suitable for puppies as young as 4 months and new dogs, focusing on games, flat work, obstacle introduction, and low-height jumping skills.
Beginner Agility is for dogs 8 months and older with no prior agility training, covering obstacle introduction, jumping skills, and basic handling techniques. Dogs should have completed at least one obedience class and be comfortable in a group setting. Advanced Beginners/Novice/Open classes are for dogs that have completed Beginner Agility, are jumping at full height, doing full-height obstacles, and can sequence up to six obstacles.
Competition/Excellent/Masters classes are for teams ready to compete, with dogs proficient in all contact obstacles, weaves, and jumping skills, and handlers capable of competition-level courses. Additionally, they offer Jumping Grids classes (Foundation and Advanced) based on Susan Salo’s program, teaching dogs to jump correctly and build jumping skills.
