About the Trainer
What a Great Dog! Training Center aims to help every dog become a great dog. Founded in 2007 by Maureen Patin, the center offers a wide range of training options including in-facility, in-home, and online programs.
They utilize positive, reward-based methods, leveraging the latest research to train puppies and adult dogs. Their comprehensive programs cover pet manners, competitive dog sports, and behavior modification.
In addition to training, What a Great Dog! also features a retail shop offering dog food, treats, and toys, and provides dog daycare services.
Accomplishments
What a Great Dog! was founded in 2007 by Maureen Patin. She transitioned from a long career as an executive with PepsiCo to follow her dream of building a dog training facility. Maureen had prior experience in competitive obedience and teaching basic obedience classes for a local parks and recreation department.
How to Get Started!
Clients can begin with puppy programs or manners classes. Private lessons are available for specific skills or behavior challenges. A “Class Readiness Evaluation” is also offered to help determine readiness for classes. Clients can subscribe to their newsletter to receive a free house training ebook.
