Graduates of this advanced program are capable of being registered as a Service Dog for mental or emotional needs and will have the ability to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test. To begin, clients should schedule a free canine evaluation. During this evaluation, White Paws assesses the dog’s trainability, determines the best training approach based on specific needs, and discusses expectations with the owner.

After the dog undergoes training using a balanced approach that incorporates rewards and minimal corrections, owners participate in several private lessons. These lessons teach the owner/handler the training methods, a daily regimen for maintaining and improving the dog’s obedience, behavior, and focus, and how to apply effective K9 communication skills throughout the dog’s life. All private lessons are scheduled on Saturdays.
