Accomplishments

Laura Garber, owner of WoofGang, is a CPDT-KA, Fear-Free Certified Professional trainer, and Cat Behavior Counselor through the HSUS. She is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), and is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Laura is an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator.

She has built behavior programs for the Pennsylvania SPCA in Philadelphia and the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter on Long Island, specializing in shelter behavior programs and consulting with shelters and rescues across the Northeast. Her career began as a Behavior Counselor for the ASPCA in NYC. Laura graduated with honors from the Dog Trainers’ Academy at the San Francisco SPCA, completed a training internship with the Monks of New Skete, and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She regularly attends seminars and conferences, learning from notable trainers like Pam Reid, Jean Donaldson, Patricia McConnell, Suzanne Clothier, Sue Sternberg, and Pia Silvani. Her diverse experience includes attending a wolf and dog behavior seminar at Wolf Park and working with dolphin trainers at the Dolphin Connection. She has also attended TTouch training, studied Companion Animal Natural Health and Nutrition, and explored animal communication.

Laura has authored articles in _Your Pet Connection_, _The Animal Companion_, _Dog Service Network_, _Cliffview Pilot_, and _Kidz Buzz_, and taught webinars for Dog Trainers Connection. She published the book _Bringing Up Puppy_ and is a guest lecturer and “Ask the Trainer” speaker for various animal groups. She has been featured on Sirius Radio’s Road Dog channel and the _Today Show_ website, and has trained animals for movies. With her own dog, Tilly, she achieved a novice tricks title.
