Each dog undergoes an individual interview before being introduced to group play. Training focuses on recall, obedience, and behavior modification through structured daily sessions. Dogs are taught to come when called, walk calmly on leash, and interact appropriately with other dogs. Elizabeth provides nutrition advice and monitors each dog’s progress daily. Boarding dogs receive the same training and socialization as daycare clients, with overnight stays included in the program.

Testimonials

My dogs Lara and Yuri, who are 14 months old half German Shepherd and one half Husky, are having the best time of their lives at Elizabeth Wood’s Dog Obedience Group.

Before acceptance into her Dog Daycare, each of my dogs went through an extensive interview process as individuals. Then she put them in one of the play areas, and carefully introduced them to one dog. After watching the interaction very carefully, Elizabeth introduced another dog. There was no hurry. Each introduction was allowed as much time as necessary for acceptance. More dogs followed, sometimes in twos and threes, until the ultimate play group was formed. Elizabeth kept the play group under observation during the entire session.

My dogs played and played, hearts full of joy, bouncing in the air, sometimes running with other curly tailed sled dogs that looked just like them, other times with poodles or very small dogs.

When I took them home, they were exhausted. When I took them for a walk, they were calm and not pulling. They finally had had a chance to burn off all that energy.

The second day, Elizabeth showed me that Yuri had already learned the first lesson that she teaches all dogs under her care: come when called. She called “Yuri” and he, who was at the far end of the playground, dropped everything to instantly bolt up to her, stopping at her feet in a sit position. I was totally amazed. One day!

Elizabeth then called dog after dog and showed me that they all obey her, just like that, coming when called, without hesitation. This is good for the safety of every dog. She has a rare and special talent for communication with dogs.

I must say that before I came too see for myself, when I read all of the reviews about Elizabeth Woods, that I hesitated because of the negative ones.

Now that I and my dogs have experienced her place for awhile, and it has been so positive for us, I believe that those reviewers just didn’t understand that their dogs failed that initial individual interview. They must not have realized that an interview was taking place.

Elizabeth will only allow dogs to join her dog learning and playing community that have a gentle, trainable temperament. It is for the well being of the whole, for what is best for her carefully curated group. I am so glad we qualified!

Yuri and Lara are healthier than they have ever been following Elizabeth’s nutrition guidence. They are calmer, less needy, and better company now that they have hours of play and friendships with other dogs.

I recommend Dog Obedience Group and Elizabeth Woods to all who love their dogs with a passion for their well-being.

Top Grade!!! We have been using Elizabeth’s service for about 5 years and we value her love and care for our dog, Echo. He is not the easiest dog to train or care for, but with Elizabeth’s help and guidance we have a much better and behaved pet. All we have to say to him is ” let’s go see Elizabeth and your friends” and he’s looking for his leash. We recommend her to anyone who needs training or boarding. Thanks again!!

About the Trainer

Elizabeth Wood runs Dog Obedience Group, a dog training and daycare facility focused on rehabilitating dogs with behavioral issues such as jumping, biting, chewing, pulling on leash, lunging, running away, and lack of recall. She uses training methods learned from William R. Koehler, former head animal trainer for Walt Disney, emphasizing brain retraining to transform dogs into well-behaved family members. Dogs undergo an individual interview before joining group play sessions, ensuring only trainable, gentle-tempered dogs are accepted into the community. Elizabeth provides dog boarding in her home, nutrition guidance, and daily supervised play with other dogs to help dogs burn energy, improve social skills, and become calmer and healthier. Her clients report dramatic improvements in behavior, obedience, and overall well-being within days.

She offers both training and daycare services in a private facility setting, with a strong focus on recall, leash manners, and behavior modification. Her program is designed for dogs that need structure, socialization, and consistent reinforcement, and she tailors her approach to each dog’s needs.

Elizabeth is highly recommended by clients for her patience, expertise, and ability to connect with even the most challenging dogs, including rescues and high-energy breeds like German Shepherds and Huskies.

Accomplishments

Elizabeth was trained by William R. Koehler, head animal trainer for Walt Disney for over 25 years. Her methods have been proven effective over many years, with clients reporting dramatic behavioral improvements in as little as one day, including instant recall from distant locations.

How to Get Started!

Dog owners must schedule an individual interview for their dog before enrollment. During this assessment, Elizabeth evaluates the dog’s temperament, behavior, and suitability for group play. Only dogs with a gentle, trainable disposition are accepted into the program.
