Every program is private, one-on-one, and built around what your dog actually needs.

Initial Evaluation – one session to assess temperament, behavior history, and your goals, ending with a program recommendation. Required for behavioral cases.

Foundations – five sessions covering sit, down, stay, place, and recall through engagement-based training, leash handling, and an introduction to tools.

Basic Obedience – four sessions of reliable obedience for a dog of any age, including leash manners, an introduction to heel, and distraction work.

New Puppy Starter – five sessions for puppies under six months: crate and potty training, beginner recall, leash introduction, enrichment games, and early socialization.

Behavioral Tune-Up – five sessions for dogs who had training and lost consistency, refreshing obedience and rebuilding structure and engagement.

Behavior Modification Intensive – eight sessions for fear, reactivity, aggression, or anxiety, built on calm engagement, structured obedience, desensitization, and progressive real-world exposure.

Hourly sessions are available for maintenance work and specific skills, and service dog training can be added to a program.

Pricing Summary

Initial Evaluation is $50 for one session.

Foundations is $250 for five sessions, a launch special limited to the first 50 clients, or $50 per session. Basic Obedience is $275 for four sessions or $69 per session. New Puppy Starter is $325 for five sessions or $65 per session. Behavioral Tune-Up is $375 for five sessions or $75 per session. The Behavior Modification Intensive is $675 for eight sessions or $85 per session.

Hourly training is $75 an hour. Add-ons run $25 per session for behavior modification, $15 per session for new puppy work, and $35 per session for service dog training. You can pay per session or save with a package, and there is a 15% military discount on all training packages.

Policies

The first session of every package includes the initial evaluation, and behavioral cases start with one so Yes K9 can be straight with you about the timeline.

You are present for every session. Between visits you practice written homework and check in through the Paw Partner app, and progress is tracked and adjusted as you go. Severe aggression cases are assessed first, and Yes K9 turns down what it cannot handle responsibly.

The business is insured through Pet Care Insurance. Active-duty service members preparing for deployment get priority scheduling, and inquiries get a reply within 12 to 24 hours.

Yes K9 LLC is a veteran-owned dog training company serving Sanford, North Carolina and the surrounding communities. Sean and Christina Long founded it in November 2019, and they train where life actually happens: in your home, your yard, your neighborhood, and the stores and parks where your dog needs to hold it together. There is no facility and no drop-off. They come to you.

Christina Long earned the Certified Master Dog Trainer credential from Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers in 2020 and leads client sessions and training plans, specializing in behavior modification and obedience. Sean Long is completing the same Master Trainer certification at Highland Canine. Both trained under Jason Purgason of Highland Canine and under Tom Israel, formerly of Track of the Dog.

The company grew out of Sean’s twelve years in the US Army and his recovery afterward. Injured in service and retired as a 100% service-disabled veteran, he and Christina were brought into the Warrior Transition Battalion’s Dog Tags program, where injured veterans taught shelter dogs the basic skills that helped get them adopted, and they helped instruct some of the classes. Yes K9 is 51% veteran-owned and offers a military discount along with priority scheduling for service members preparing to deploy.

The training is science-backed and balanced. Yes K9 leads with reward-based work using praise, food, and drive, and adds clear corrections when a dog needs them, choosing the approach that communicates best rather than the harshest one available. Every program teaches the owner alongside the dog, because the results have to hold once the trainer goes home.

Work ranges from a fifty-dollar initial evaluation through foundational obedience, puppy starters, and behavioral tune-ups, up to an eight-session intensive for fear, reactivity, aggression, and anxiety. Sessions are private and one-on-one; group classes are planned for a future training facility rather than offered today.

Accomplishments

Christina Long earned the Certified Master Dog Trainer credential from Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers in 2020, and Sean Long is completing the same certification, which will make Yes K9 one of the few training companies in the region where both owners hold it from the same school. Both trained under Jason Purgason of Highland Canine and under Tom Israel, formerly of Track of the Dog.

Sean served twelve years in the US Army and retired as a 100% service-disabled veteran. He holds a BA in Leadership and Organizational Studies and completed Veteran Entrepreneurship Training through the SBA and the Veterans Business Outreach Center. Yes K9 is 51% veteran-owned and was an official vendor of the Sandhills Dog Fair 2026.
