Private training starts with a two-hour Training Intensive, with longer private programs available for obedience, reactivity, fear, and behavior work. Board and train comes as a 2 to 4 week Obedience Board & Train or a 5 to 8 week Behavior Modification program.
Adventure Training and boarding are offered only to dogs who have already trained with Best Life K9 Academy. Adventure Training is a pick-up session of about an hour of real-world work on goals like recall, public manners, and off-leash reliability.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Private training starts with a $300 two-hour Training Intensive, with private programs from $1,050. Obedience board and train starts at $2,400, and behavior board and train starts at $6,000.
For previous clients only, Adventure Training is $100 per session and boarding is $75 per night for the first dog and $65 per night for each additional dog from the same household. Current programs and pricing are listed at bestlifek9academy.com/programs.

We had a pretty fearful husky-mix, and an excitable, friendly, cat-chasing, rott/pit mix…we needed help and quick. Met Chris when we were adopting our rott/pitty and started working with him shortly after. Chris opened our eyes to sooooo many things. Things we could start doing, things we should stop doing, and things we could adjust. After just 5 weeks, both dogs are now amazing on the leash! They don’t pull or lunge and the leash is loose!! Our rott/pit is 1000x better with the cats now. They’re both responding to training very well. About the Trainer
Best Life K9 Academy is a dog training business in Reno, Nevada, led by trainer Chris and serving Reno and Sparks. Training is individualized and dog-first, built around play, trust, and the relationship between dog and owner rather than a single training ideology.
Programs cover everyday obedience, loose-leash walking, recall, and off-leash reliability, plus behavior modification for reactivity, fear, and aggression. Every program includes owner coaching so the skills hold up at home, on walks, and out in the world.
Chris also does rescue work with Lyon County Animal Services and Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation, helping shelter dogs build the skills they need to get adopted.

New clients start with a free 30-minute evaluation to talk through their dog, any behavior concerns, and training goals. From there, Chris recommends the program that fits, and every visit is by appointment.
