I have had the pleasure of working with Chris at Best Life K9 Academy over the years, and I cannot recommend his services highly enough. He initially helped me train my Jack Russell, Boo, when she was just a puppy. Chris’s expertise was invaluable in teaching her proper leash manners and overall behavior. Throughout the years, he has consistently provided me with useful tips and strategies for managing a multi-pet household. His insights have truly made a difference in our day-to-day interactions and have helped foster a harmonious environment for all of my dogs.
– Dawn Cranfield

We had a pretty fearful husky-mix, and an excitable, friendly, cat-chasing, rott/pit mix…we needed help and quick. Met Chris when we were adopting our rott/pitty and started working with him shortly after. Chris opened our eyes to sooooo many things. Things we could start doing, things we should stop doing, and things we could adjust. After just 5 weeks, both dogs are now amazing on the leash! They don’t pull or lunge and the leash is loose!! Our rott/pit is 1000x better with the cats now. They’re both responding to training very well. And, I just watched our fearful husky/mix walk up to our adult daughter and give her kisses…1st time EVER in 1.5yrs.

About the Trainer

Best Life K9 Academy is a dog training business led by Chris that offers personalized, one-on-one training to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners. The program focuses on behavior modification, leash training, obedience, and e-collar training, with methods tailored to each dog’s unique needs, rewards, and learning style. Chris helps dogs of all temperaments—including fearful, reactive, or multi-dog household pets—become well-behaved companions, with the goal of keeping dogs out of shelters and in loving homes. He also works directly with local shelters like Lyon County Animal Services and WARF to support shelter dog rehabilitation.

Training includes foundational skills like sit, down, recall, and house training, as well as advanced techniques such as loose-leash walking, stopping lunging and barking, and reliable off-leash recall using e-collars. Clients receive coaching to build confidence and consistency at home, ensuring long-term success. The approach emphasizes positive motivation and building drive, with a strong focus on real-life results and emotional well-being for both dogs and owners.

Accomplishments

Chris has successfully trained dogs for multi-pet households, helped fearful dogs overcome anxiety, and collaborated with Lyon County Animal Services and WARF to rehabilitate shelter dogs, resulting in successful adoptions.
