Policies

Bite history must be disclosed before booking. Aggression cases, bite histories, and resource guarding are assessed separately and may be declined or referred when another professional is the safer fit, and suspected pain may require a veterinary evaluation before training continues.

The package guarantee applies when you attend each session, follow the agreed plan, and practice on regular walks. If meaningful improvement does not follow, Ian keeps working with you at no extra cost or refunds the program fee.

He adopted a five-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog from BadAss Rescue in Brooklyn, a dog who had come out of an abusive home in Louisiana and was reactive to other dogs and to city life in general. Ian hired a professional trainer to teach him how to train her, and after months of work together she was walking calmly through Manhattan. She later graduated as a certified therapy dog and volunteered in nursing homes and hospitals. She is Captain Polo, and she is the reason the business exists.

Sessions start inside your apartment, move out through the building, and continue on real New York sidewalks, with the elevators, lobbies, narrow crossings, delivery traffic, and surprise dogs that make up an ordinary walk. Ian watches your dog in context, finds the distance at which the dog can still think, and builds from there.
