About the Trainer

Guy Yeaman, known as “The Dog Man,” is a professional dog trainer with over 50 years of experience working with dogs of all types, including family pets, service dogs, guide dogs, and working dogs. He offers group obedience classes, private one-on-one training, and inboard (board-and-train) programs designed to meet individual needs. His training philosophy centers on repetition and praise, emphasizing positive reinforcement and consistent leadership to build a strong bond between dog and owner. Guy conducts group classes through local municipal recreation departments across Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Gardnerville, and the Lake Tahoe areas, and provides private sessions at clients’ homes to address specific behavioral issues like aggression, anxiety, leash pulling, and excessive barking. His inboard training program includes a required group class for owners to learn how to maintain consistency after the dog returns home.

Guy’s background includes specialized police canine training from 1968–1974 and ongoing work with animal control agencies, humane societies, and community organizations. He is deeply involved in local communities, offering programs for youth, participating in career days, and supporting animal welfare initiatives. His decades of hands-on experience and community integration make him a trusted local resource for dog owners seeking reliable, personalized training.

He prefers phone contact and does not offer video calls, boarding as a standalone service, or pet grooming, walking, or boarding beyond his inboard training program.
