Testimonials
I came to KeenDog looking for help with my ~5.5 year old pup who had slipped into what I thought was leash reactivity and aggression. Turns out I didn’t have a dog who was “mean” or “aggressive,” but one who was frustrated, anxious, and shut down. I’ve completely changed our training tools and practices and we are never looking back. Katrina and Phill have built an amazing program, and it’s changed my dog for the better and me for the better too.
– Morgan & Penny
We had always adopted older dogs, and when we decided to get a golden retriever puppy we knew we needed help. Katrina helped us select the ideal puppy to become a therapy dog and we placed him in the Puppy Prodigy program. We now have a well-mannered puppy who follows all his commands and knows how to calmly greet people and other dogs. I can’t say enough about the KeenDog staff and methods. They are THE BEST!
– Patty & Tucker
We started training with KeenDog a little over two years ago, and what we love most is the lifetime group classes. One of the biggest differences for us was their knowledge of Australian Shepherds. A previous trainer suggested I return my dog for “behavioral issues” that were actually very common for the breed. Now Poppy is great on and off leash, and we go on off-leash hikes and beach trips without any worries. Phill and Katrina are truly the best!
– Maddy & Poppy
We started using KeenDog when my lab was about 3 months old and full of energy. They taught us how to communicate with her, and that made our relationship awesome. Beyond the typical obedience, they place a big focus on play and on community: group classes, an informative Facebook group, and real friendships with the trainers. I knew I wanted Maisy to be able to go anywhere with me, and I can confidently do that because of KeenDog.

About the Trainer
KeenDog Training is a professional dog training company serving Fort Mill, SC and the greater Charlotte, NC area, co-founded by head trainer Katrina Kensington. Katrina takes a modern, balanced approach, combining marker and lure training, play, leash work, and e-collar training to build clear communication between dogs and their owners and dependable behavior both on and off leash.
From a dedicated facility at 124 Winners Circle in Fort Mill, and in clients’ own homes and real-world settings, KeenDog offers an unusually full lineup of programs: private in-home lesson packages, board-and-train, puppy programs, and the flagship Puppy Prodigy, in which the team hand-raises and trains a puppy before returning it to the family. Group classes are included for life with every program and serve as the real-world proving ground, from park walks to paddle-boarding outings.
